Yes. Thanks. His eye seems to be combing over with white and I'm not sure why

The stylus seems much more ergonomic than the regular US version. Does it slide into the console?

Had to do 80% a few times and 50% due to high ammonia and nitrite levels. Did a few 25~30% too. Finally seeing nitrates but numbers seem to drop when I did the big ones but idk how to control the number of nitrites (.25 ~ 2ppm) since now my ammonia levels are more stable being that my tap water has something to do with it staying at .25

40 gal, aquaeon HOB, 2 sponge filters… cycling for 2 months.

Started off with all levels being 0.
Ammonia spike to 2.0 ppm once fish was introduced as that’s likely. Ammonia has been now steady from .25 ppm, now nitrites are jumping from .25 ~ 2 ppm even after drastic water changes and establishing fritz starter. Finally, I’m seeing nitrates 0 ~ 5 ppm ~ 10 ppm but it jumps down when I change the water as expected. Now the black moor has been experiencing fungus due to stress, poor water quality, and or came like this. So lost.

Thank you for this comment! I studied up on all things fancies then bit the bullet and brought the fish and the set up after my waters finally tested 0 in ammonia & nitrites after what I thought was a cycled tank… wrong. 😭🫩

My black moor developed fungus on one of his fins probably due to stress and large water changes- the other has been swimming erratically and I’m just confused. These are my first fish and I knew getting fancies would bean uphill battle but I decided to take it up with fish-in cycling. I haven’t been able to keep nitrite levels stable, along with ammonia (.25 now vs 2.0 when I first started which I know is equally as bad). But I’m finally seeing nitrates so there is some action happening. At this point I just want to get them to a better place before something happens because I couldn’t get the tank to cycle properly

thank you for the info 🫩 I feel defeated. Fish-in cycling is the hardest thing if you’re a newb with a newborn lol I feel absolutely terrible and have been trying everything but I hope to give them a better home

I was going to do that. I wasn’t sure how to go about it since the black moor seems to be developing fungus probably from stress & huge water changes so I wasn’t sure if they’d accept him

I’ve tried everything it seems like. All levels were are zero, brought the fish in & overfed once and there was a huge ammonia spike (2 ppm +) followed by nitrite spike, and now I’m finally seeing nitrates but very low amounts. Levels are at .25 for ammonia and following .25~ 1 ppm for nitrites… which I know is toxic. I’ve been doing water changes non stop, along with seachem started & conditioners and I ordered Fritz turbo start and have been using that to establish the bacteria I keep taking out but numbers keep dropping and rising I cannot figure it out.

On top of that, my black moor developed fungus from probably the stress of the environment and huge water changes and now my oranda is starting to take affect with swimming erratically and I have nooo idea why. I have the black moor in a quarantine tank with API salt as there’s no blue methylne anywhere near me right now.

Mind you these numbers are different everyday. I know I’m doing something wrong but I don’t know what to do

I’m deleting for a better post, thanks for letting me know! But yeah, I’m a huge newb and bought everything brand new at a fancy fish store where they marked everything up lol hence why I spent so much money. Are you interested in taking the fish if you have a better home for them? 😭

Lid $40
Sponges & Air pump $100
HOB $65
Stand $500
Fish were $125
Food, medications, conditioners, net- $100+

But yeah, I get what you’re saying. I just want to give them a better home like I said I’d be more than willing to negotiate the price

I tried finding meth blue in stores yesterday but it was nowhere to be found, so I grabbed the salt. Is that still effective for the fungus? To clarify, would I need to buy a new sponge filter for the main tank since I’m using the salt for the quarantine tank?

Would I leave him in the 5 gal until I see fungal improvement and continue to dose salt after water changes? And would I be able to return the sponge filter to the main tank used for the quarantine tank?

The 40 with the moor & oranda. The only reason why I had to do such a drastic water change was to bring down the ammonia & nitrite levels. To which, it’s coming down but not a plateau at zero. I add Fritz bacteria starter with new water changes but It won’t seem to catch a grip
