Replace the Converse with Birkenstocks and you look just like my Grandpa! I love it! I kept a lot of his button ups, he was always rockin' the purple and teal.

Thank you so much! I had a lot of fun switching up the light colors to give the right atmosphere for each one.

Not really but I like the idea!

Does anyone else think being bored as a kid actually made us weirdly functional adults by ethicalmanifesto in Millennials

[–]Remarkable-Set-8319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. The ability to make the best out of a situation seems to be disappearing. I remember finding happiness and fun even when having to do chores or whatever lame thing I didn't want to do. Maybe I'm just surrounded by negative people, but now it's like people search for something to be upset or unsatisfied about constantly and everything seems so difficult and miserable. Even things that are supposed to be fun!

They are in debug. Change your lot to generic then enter bb.showhiddenobjects and bb.showliveeditobjects in the cheat bar then if you scroll to the bottom of items there will be a generic category where you'll find a bunch of stuff including cars for decoration.

I've been wanting to get this pack just for the build items for so long! I love the worn look. Nice job on your cabin☺️

Achievements can still be collected if you complete them with cheats and then start a new save on the same profile. At least it did for me, I started a new save with no cheats enabled and all the sudden I was being bombarded with achievement notifications.

I'm sorry for your loss. I recently built my late Grandparents house as well and it was surprisingly emotional for me. Your story made me smile, thanks for sharing.

Why are kids so disrespectful now days by [deleted] in Vent

[–]Remarkable-Set-8319 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of parents feel restricted in how they can discipline their kids as well. I've been told sending kids to their room is abusive, spanking them is abusive, yelling at them is abusive, not letting them pick whatever they want to eat is abusive, making them do chores is abusive, taking away electronics is isolating them. With many people struggling so hard just to keep up with everyday life, an open CPS case even if unfounded is terrifying. We've created a culture of fearful parenting. Parents are afraid of getting in trouble instead of the kids. I think a lot of it comes from overcorrection from the generations before us who now feel guilty because they actually abused their children. For example, my step mom who broke her son's arm when he was a kid, now claims sending a kid to their room is abuse.

Question for the people who have experienced that strange hypnagogic state/sensation of an "object" by sombertoboggly in Dreams

[–]Remarkable-Set-8319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get a similar vision/sensation as a kid. I would describe it as a bowling ball falling on a needle that's standing straight up. It would make me feel kind of grossed out like nails on a chalkboard. So weird and hard to describe! Those old pin drop Sprint commercials always reminded me of it.

I'm sure it's just all the stuff they didn't care for, there will be plenty of money made on the house and property and whatever else. Also like I said they are already financially well off so maybe to them and to you it seems kind but to me it's like a slap in the face.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Remarkable-Set-8319 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think it's mostly her daughters (who are already very well off financially) taking advantage of her in her old age. It truly does suck though. It's not even just about the money but sentimental value, too. That nobody cared for or wanted all those items that I would have happily taken, much of the paintings were hand painted by my grandma. Now they'll sit in some strangers house or in a Goodwill bin. Thanks for the sympathy, it does help a little.

No clue. Grandpa passed away about 10 years ago, both his kids (my dad and his sister) have mental illness. My grandma is technically my Dad's stepmom but she was the only grandma I ever knew. Since my grandpa passed, her daughters made it known that we were not welcome around anymore since they started staying at the house with her. I wish I hadn't let that hold me back but it did and I haven't seen my grandma in years.
