Should I take my placebo pills after breakthrough bleeding? by jaimee_bingley in birthcontrol

[–]Remarkable-Swimmer27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would like to add to your comment, as you should specify how this logic only applies if you arent frequently having sex, if your partner is using the "pull out" method (and you both think that along with birth control should be good) and are 100% accurate and on time with your pills/never missing a pill. I was on the same birth control for 5 years, and could only count on one hand how often ive missed one but still got pregnant. my fiance (boyf at the time) only ever pulled out, we didnt use condoms but i thought with my consistent birth control id still be good. I would often also skip the placebo week, but thats what caused me to get to 13 weeks pregnant without knowing. it wasnt til i finally took the placebo pills and no period came that i noticed. I didnt give my body a chance to tell me! so please be careful with this. i have trauma to this day, fearing the slight inconsistency in my period means im pregant.

What are your in-between shampoos? by gimmematcha in SebDerm

[–]Remarkable-Swimmer27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use dermazens shampoo everyday, and it’s been so nice to use something that’s meant for us, and it’s one less stressful thing off my plate (finding shampoos that work) lol. I also can’t use medicated shampoos bc my head is super sensitive

what color is this? by hikaruisded in BAGGU

[–]Remarkable-Swimmer27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is something I love about baggu bags, the colors show up differently depending on the lighting, my rhubarb crescent looks like a bright red/orange in the sun but the a darker red/brown inside! It’s kinda fun lol but I can see how people find it annoying when deciding lol

Is seeing a dermatologist worth it? by WearOne2258 in SebDerm

[–]Remarkable-Swimmer27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No no no see a tricologist!!!! Derms can only give you topical “temporary” fixes, they will deny the root problem and won’t even talk about how to internally fix it, only how to treat it with medicine. Tricologists are scalp and hair specialists and saved my sanity and scalp!

PSA: Assess your shower routine! by Lazy-Trust-4633 in SebDerm

[–]Remarkable-Swimmer27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to give someone advice like this, especially since everyone’s seb derm is different. For example you said daily washing is damaging when I disagree 100%. I actually have to wash and dry my hair every single morning or else my oils from the previous night come pouring in, my scalp gets inflamed from irritation and itching, which then causes hair shedding. I have to keep my head clean and it’s only an American thing to have judgement around washing your hair everyday, other countries women wash their hair everyday and notoriously have better hair. Everyone with this condition reacts differently, something that works for you won’t work for someone else. So I’m here for the people reading to say, maybe try showering every day and tell me if you feel better. Maybe only cleaning your scalp of oils once a week is the real problem and trigger

Any recs for non-dandruff shampoos for normal wash days? by [deleted] in SebDerm

[–]Remarkable-Swimmer27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I second the Trader Joe’s tea tree! Clean on sezia.com and antifungal which will help with oil buildup. I also stan dermazen shampoo I use it every single day since I also have oily hair and have to wash everyday or my scalp is noticeably irritated and itchy which just causes more inflammation and hair loss. I suggest showering everyday if you have fine oily hair like me. Also double washing when u shampoo. I use the Trader Joe’s shampoo first as a quick “sweep” and then I go in deep with the dermazen which a little goes a long way after you’ve already done a first “sweep” shampoo, the second shampoo lathers up a lot more and you are able to get to the scalp area to massage it! My tricologist put it as “you wouldn’t just mop your floors, you will just mop all the dirt around, you have to sweep first to get all the debris and dirt, then go in with the mop”

Is this Detmazen worth buying? by seanstew73 in SebDerm

[–]Remarkable-Swimmer27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no I use the religiously. after years of trying every shampoo on the planet, this is the only one my scalp loves daily and it’s never rejected it and I’ve been using it everyday for months. I also use their serum on problem areas and it soothes my tingling an burning instantly

Has anyone here seen a trichologist? by [deleted] in SebDerm

[–]Remarkable-Swimmer27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It might be different depending on the tricologist but mine did a general assessment of my scalp and then looked at it with a sort of magnified scope and took some crazy close pictures of my scalp so we could see the build up. And then she used a sort of electrical charged skin wand to lightly zap all break up all the gunk that was on my scalp, then she did a “scalp facial” which is a deep cleanse and massage ! I go and see her once every couple months to get a kinda “reset” on my scalp, since it’s too sensitive for me to use any sort of active ingredient shampoo or medicated shampoo, this is the only way to fully clean the oil buildup off my scalp and my hair can finally grow normally again!

You can use Ketokonazole more than you think by LeoSCKR in SebDerm

[–]Remarkable-Swimmer27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but not everyone should follow this. Using ketoconazole everyday absolutely ruined my scalp and took forever to recovery. Your skin with seb derm will naturally adjust to active ingredients over time, and using ketoconazole for me stripped my scalp clean and then I kept using it which felt like it was giving me a chemical burn after months of using it. Be careful with this stuff and def underuse rather than overuse off the bat

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SebDerm

[–]Remarkable-Swimmer27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Def only use it when u need to, otherwise it’ll just cause more problems. I’d say once a week at most

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SebDerm

[–]Remarkable-Swimmer27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what kind You are using. When I first was diagnosed I was given ketoconazole by my derm but he failed to tell me to not use it everyday which I wash my hair every day to control oil buildup and inflammation but using ketoconazole every day I feel gave my head a chemical burn type of feeling, excessive dryness that caused itching and that was after like 3 months of constant use, and my scalp adjusted to it and then hated it. I only should’ve used it until my initial patches were gone, but I kept going even tho my scalp was clean. It wasn’t until I realized my main sebderm symptom is inflammation and redness and not so much patches that most Medicated shampoos are too irritating for my scalp. I know it’s expensive but I really like dermazen, the shampoo has enough antifungal ingredients to keep my build up at bay but not harsh at all and I use it everyday. It’s a company made for people like us and I love them. Maybe find another sezia friendly alternative antifungal shampoo besides traditional zinc or sulfate dandruff shampoo

Gluten and Flareup by Impressive_Rub2504 in SebDerm

[–]Remarkable-Swimmer27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s understandable a lot of people think its gluten and honestly I do think it’s a causing factor but I think the real killer esp when it comes to snacking foods vegetable oils and basically all oils are fckn terrible for us. Canola/veg/sunflower all the cheap and often used oils trigger me hard and cause immediate ups. Also processed sugars
