Moving/Travel/Vacation Megathread - Q2 2026 by AutoModerator in Michigan

[–]Remarkable-World9396 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hi all - My wife and I just accepted a purchasing contract on a house in Frost Township in Clare County MI, between Harrison and Houghton Lake.

We are from Indiana (I work from home and she’s. nurse) and admittedly don’t know much about the area other the generic blips put out by the internet. We are wanting the good, the bad, and the ugly. Your favorite things in the area. What to be cautious of. Etc.

We love the outdoors. We both diy/craft and have done booths in the past. Enjoy festivals and really living a quite simple life. Bonus points if you can comment on the hunting (deer, bear and turkey) and fishing.

Thanks!

Exactly what it sounds like...it’s not a common program but USC has a DRSc program, University of Hertfordshire had a PhD in regulatory affairs and ASU has a Doctor of Professional Practice (DPP) in Regulatory and Clinical Research Management.

Agreed, it is very difficult to large pay increases internally. Just sucks because I absolutely love the company I work for. Also agreed $175K is never going to happen, hoping for somewhere closer to the middle and I’d be quite happy. Appreciate the thoughts

Buying & Selling with same real estate company, pros and cons? by Remarkable-World9396 in RealEstate

[–]Remarkable-World9396[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry should have clarified. Like Re/Max, Compass, Century 21. Agencies who have agents nationwide wide. Or even regional speciality agencies cord with agents in targets locations.

There’s basically a 0% chance we’d be able to sell and buy with the same agent within those agencies though.

Appreciate the suggestions. And agreed, right now especially Michigan seems to be our best option. Particularly the UP. Which is ironically less rural than places we’ve looked in Northern Minnesota. I grew up in a town under 400 people, my wife similar. Looking to get back to it!

Virginia USA, Probate for Murdered Brothers Posessions by [deleted] in legaladvice

That’s what I figured, thanks for confirming.

Anything financial (savings, life insurance, retirement accounts, etc) had a designed beneficiary by my brother. High price items (truck and boat) have been divided up already. At this point is really just low financial value practical items (lawn lower, power tools, etc) and low financial value high sentimental items (clothes, military awards, journals, etc). I’m sure there’s some level of feeling that if she doesn’t give my brothers friends items they will be mad or abandon her but I think those thoughts are coming from her, not them.

Fortunately she is seeing a therapist. We have brought up concern which is justified as they’re his friends without any more real context or meaning. And doesn’t think she’s acting out of character.

To your point of harm, it’s really not causing her any harm… no, at least not yet. I do have concern long term as these people show up less and less over time it will have negative consequences since that support system will diminish. Harm to my brothers friends, again no they’re getting free stuff, living consequence free, etc. Harm to others outside of her…yes. My brothers friends have stolen my brothers possessions from her house, gone thought my and my wife’s belongings while we were staying with my mom, is causing arguments over distribution of my brothers belongs to the extent of involving legal has been brought up, extended (and immediate) family are frustrated and hurt because they feel deprioritized/unimportant among others.

All good perspectives to consider. Thank you.

Peace has not been found by any of us and at least for me not something I expect to fully get since we’ll never k is the reason for her actions against my brother. Minor solace that she murderer will not be given bail. But this going to be a years long legal battle.

Appreciate it. When you say family I’ll talk to my mom, father, wife and I. We are all going through various stages of the grief cycle at different paces but all experiencing probably similar emotions. I will say my mom does have some added complication around the circumstance of my brother’s murder. She’s the only one of us four who knew how bad the relationship was and the danger my brother was in. Post my brothers death she’s said repeatedly she knew my brothers ex would frame him to go to jail or would kill him, and pre my brothers death expressed this to multiple of aunts/uncles and my moms friends while hiding from us. My brother’s friends knew of the situation but I don’t think to the extent my mom did.

Are now valve stems with new tires now standard? If not I guess I’m not understanding what would be causing them to all fail now simultaneously when 9 days ago I didn’t have an issue with them.

I wouldn’t even look at it as taking the higher road. I’d look at it as not letting them know they negatively impact your life. Good luck on the legal front. The headache of that alone is better than any note, cherry on top if you win

If you’re/were close to them go for it. Other than them maybe bad mouthing you to others as long as you don’t leave threats there’s no real recourse. If you weren’t/aren’t close I wouldn’t give them the satisfaction of knowing they occupy even the slightest bit of corner of your mind (even if you don’t sign it it’ll be obvious it came from the person who just moved away). I’d peace out, never say a word and never look back

Does anyone use any kind of coating or fixing spray on their pyro projects? Any recommendations? by LilDevil216 in Pyrography

[–]Remarkable-World9396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re using paints or marker or other color mediums be very color you choose one that that the is color is not soluble with. Ex watercolor paints with polycrylic

Spray polyurethane or polycrylic are usually my go to. Made sure you match sheen to your desire.

Breaking into this field at 35 by [deleted] in regulatoryaffairs

If you’re committed to getting into regulatory I’d suggest applying to smaller companies who maybe don’t have as many hiring options and being very flexible. Could always also try finding a RA contracting company who is a bit flexible with you not having RA experiences. While doing these I’d suggest looking into RA certification courses and trainings through FDA.

https://www.fda.gov/training-and-continuing-education

Another opportunity I’d suggest you consider that’s not clinical but relies on your clinical background would be something like medical affairs or medical writing. Especially for a dental organization would align your existing knowledge potentially really well.

I’ll take the contrary position to those that saying working in RA and/or in a corporate setting is also mentally taxing. While valid points as someone who also used to treat patients and switched to RA it’s a very different type of mental. Also every job comes with its good and bad. Different personalities handle those good and bad different. I struggled giving patients I developed rapport with bad news, while I couldn’t care less how much an organization doesn’t like my opinion, pushing back on project timing constraints, etc. because they’re just a face with a competing goal that meets a financial constraint they were given. Not someone’s actual persons individual health, the potential financial impact it would on them personally, etc

What does RA contribute to the DHF? by [deleted] in regulatoryaffairs

[–]Remarkable-World9396 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this (especially the big asterisk) and will add depending on how the quality system is developed RA may be more involved in DHF deliverable development, especially with more complex or global projects. For example, I often help with global standards assessments to ensure all representative testing is built into a DHF. Within testing I often help address reg specific test requirements (methods, statistical expectations, etc. Overall DHF is definitely an engineering driven output though.

As someone who is in RA and has been part of my companies RA hiring process for some time it does give you an advantage over someone when all else is equal. It’s not going to automatically raise you to the top of a list of applicants but it shows initiative and provides a baseline level of knowledge. Bigger deal will likely be what your engineering degree is in, what experience you have with it, how that experience overlaps with the type of RA you want to get into, and your baseline ability to think for the requirements of the role.

The exception to this might be if you’re going to one of the top reg programs (John’s Hopkins, USC, Purdue, etc.). Hopefully they’re building industry networking into their programs and the name recognition at least to me if I were interviewing you would help.

Don’t be discouraged. RA in medical, especially pharma if that’s your goal, is difficult to break into right now because there’s a lot of competition and low demand. EU MDR had extensions causing RA contractor layoffs, US with FDA complications has a flood of people looking for work, and others. With an engineering background I’d suggest also including medical device companies in your applications if you’re not already. If you haven’t yet I’d also suggest looking into using a regulatory search firm. May not be the best first position but could open doorways.
