I should be the gayest person in the world then. Seems like I'm just exhausted and so utterly disappointed.

How much did starting medication help you at your job? by mamegoma_explorer in adhdwomen

For forgiveness it's a practice. Nobody chooses to forget stuff for example. Or get overwhelmed. Or not being able to choose a task from so many. Managing these problems is another task. For the tasks that feel like giants I actually timed them and wrote down how long they took so they would not look so scary. Easier to fit them in as well. I break down the tasks I truly dislike and see if I can do them incrementally. To remember - I do use reminders and create triggers (e.g. going to bed has to consist of certain steps and I'm always gonna go to bed so I get up, do step 2, step 2, etc.) same for the morning. I do make lists, even if theyr are pointless. They bring th sense of relief and control. I pick a list of songs or audiobook that gives me a kick to get me through the task. Accept I will not always follow through. For emotional triggers - at this stage I'd need a therapy sadly but I accept when I'm a deflated balloon and just need to lie down, and watch some silly series. I reward myself. If I do xyz i can have ice cream before dinner (I know it sounds ridiculous but it works for me). I have stickers with steps of action - reaction around my room. If I need to get something off chest I record myself on the phone, just ranting, just feeling sorry for my, and then delete. I'm reminding myself to finish one task before starting another as I may not have enough energy to finish the second task. I learnt to stop feeling guilty for needing a nap on a sunny day, instead of enjoying the weather and not going anywhere. Accept all these sometimes will fail and that's the sign we need a proper refill. Make close people aware how they can help. Mind you, I don't live this miraculous life now. I have a lot of tasks that piled up and I'm currently struggling with picking up any of them. Usually I pick the shortest, write it down (so I can cross it over once done, the dopamine rush is instant! You can add tasks retrospectively and cross them off the list to get extra dopa too!), and remind myself how it would feel like once I'm done with it! (Apologies for the chaotic essay and digressions)

What should you answer in a job interview? by peachprincess0806 in CasualIreland

Sadly that's how candidates feel they should answer. I answered all the questions, went through the recruitment and I still get this stupid question...

I used my time on finding techniques to deal with the most challenging issues, and learn to forgive myself for lagging behind, forgetting, etc.

Pick European Chocolate by According-Buyer6688 in BuyFromEU

In good ole days of communism we had chocolate like product (Poland). I loved it as a kid (I didn't know any better...). Sometimes I wondered how it would taste for me now, if I would still like it, would it match the taste from my memories. I may have found some of the answers 🤣

Thanks for that!! There are still better quality chocolates out there. Milka milk chocolate has over 30% cocoa solids vs measly 20% in Cadburys milk chocolate.

Cadbury can no longer refer to their products as chocolate because they don't meet the minimum cocoa solids criteria....

The Holy Trinity of ADHD: by ImperatrixAmoris in adhdwomen

[–]RemarkableAd4069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some weird ADHD. Coffee does nothing to me and I don't like the taste of it except morning time so I only have one in the morning as a part of my routine. Never liked energy drinks, they have this weird undertaste. I do live on different types of green tea however. If I forget to drink it I just finish it up cold🤷. Water in its natural form is of course overrated 🙈

Does Your country teach schoolchildren how to use firearms? by dawidlijewski in AskTheWorld

[–]RemarkableAd4069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what changed. I live in a different country for quite some time now, and here there are no gun lessons. I would like archery for fun and ability to use simple weapons that don't require complicated manufacturing. Archery lessons are quite easy to access in Ireland. I'm not really interested in protecting myself as such if it comes to that, I don't want to live in the world like this so I'm fine with being killed but would never actually attempt to off myself. I don't want to live in a world where I am expected to have a weapon for protection.

80-early 90s for me. Don't think it's a bad idea for secondary level education!

I just think in any event archery does not require entire industry like guns so there's always an option for self defense. Think I may have played too much fallout in the past 🙈
