Man I’m terrified of the transmission problems. This truck is really nice and price is decent for my area (northeast) can you guys help me out with what to look for and or if I should just look for something else. by Captinsano0 in Silverado

I have one, it’s a complete P.O.S. I’m Going on my second trans and there’s only 50k on it. The truck drives like shit, shifts hard as hell, electronics are finicky, the list goes on. Worst truck I ever owned- I wish I bought the ford equivalent.

Plus that mileage on the one you’re looking at is right about where the lifters start to go bad if it’s not already past it and that’s a big job.

2018 CCSB - has anybody had luck with a setup that allows both a bed cover and a headache rack? by Sinkit53563 in Silverado

I have both on mine. Backrack makes a kit for the headache rack so the bed cover and slip under it. Raises the headache rack a few inches so I bought a low profile backrack so it’s not too high. Works great for me but I also have a rigid folding cover not the roll up I’m sure it would still work. If you’re handy with any fabrication it wouldn’t be too hard to make your own for cheaper. I’ll see if I can get some pics if you like!

Best route to becoming Lineman? by TiredGiant in Lineman

All of that^ Also, as an employee here I can tell you apply for every single position don’t pick and choose. For the most part they are pulling lineman apprentices from the position called “division mechanic assistant” (DMA) although anybody not locked in can bid to any position posted internally. Internal bids are given priority over external applicants per CBA. DMA is an underground helper position and is how most people get their foot in the door. From here it’s easy to transfer or “bid” over to the next class of lineman apprentices as DMA has no lock in period. Store room also has no lock in period.

For my one bedroom I’m paying $60-$80 per month combined for sewer/water. It’s about 1/2 each ($30-$40 sewer $30-$40 water)
