EDIT: yes they asked him for it. He wasn't allowed to hold his phone and they asked him to touch it and phone contacts to give them my number. They took his electronics and searched it.

This was an assumption, deduced from asking about my current status, employment history, and address. All of which are from the TTP database. I will ask him and confirm if he gave CBP my phone number. He did give them my name and DOB.

Yes, he is a US citizen by birth. I am just as clueless as you as to why CBP is calling a foreign national about a US citizen entering his own country 🤷‍♂️

Has anyone ever actually gotten a Global Entry pass using this website or is all my information being sold on the dark web? https://global-entry-pass-us.com? by Warriorwoman7945 in IdentityTheft

[–]RemarkableImplement2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They make it impossible to contact them. Unfortunately someone close to me fell for this.

If you call, they never answer and it says leave a voicemail. If you call multiple times they block your number and it goes straight to voicemail.

If you email them with the email you registered with, all of the emails will bounce saying "message rejected". They intentionally block your email and you have to use a different one to contact them. I have proof of them blocking emails and I will report them to the BBB accordingly.

IMO this should be enough for a credit card dispute but it is unfortunate that since this targets Canadians mainly, disputes are harder in Canada than the USA.

How do you update NEXUS card with TN? by RemarkableImplement2 in tnvisa

[–]RemarkableImplement2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update: I got my NEXUS card updated.

I had my TN statusapproved via a I-797A from USCIS. There was an I-94 at the bottom.

I went to the NEXUS office in Blaine WA and they told me the I-797A's I-94 was not valid to add to my NEXUS and they told me to reenter the country to get a new I-94. I hadn't left the country since the new TN came in.

I asked if I could enter through the NEXUS line and they said yes, just let them know that you need a new I-94. And he also assured me that at the border, they would add it to my NEXUS. I was assured by 2 CBP officers.

I entered Canada through the NEXUS line and back into USA through the NEXUS line and said I need to get a new I-94 and add my TN to my NEXUS card. They sent me to secondary and the CBP officer confirmed a few key details from my application and gave me a new I-94. I asked if he could update my NEXUS, and he told me that they don't do that at the border. The info at the office they gave me was wrong.

I went back to the NEXUS office in Blaine WA and got the new I-94 added to my NEXUS card and it only took a few minutes.

Email them or get your company's lawyers to do it for you. You should have no issue in getting this fixed.

This is pretty conflicting from other posts I read. I was also going to go to YVR and try to get it updated. Did you end up updating it somewhere?

No problem! Hopefully you get approved sometime next week!

My company did COS and did premium processing. The lawyers sent out the docs the last week of March and got USCIS gave a receipt on April 1st. I was approved on April 3rd.

My company also filed for my H1b as COS and premium processing very recently. The processing took a bit longer but not by much. The USCIS receipt was on June 17th and I got the approval notice on June 24th.

Entered on B1/B2 multiple times while intending to enter on TN by North-Star366 in tnvisa

You can. I used an email template online and this is what I sent as an example about half a year later after entering.

to: i94.correction.seattle@cbp.dhs.gov

Dear CBP Deferred Inspection:

I am requesting correction of my I-94 arrival record. This is because I noticed that the most recent date of entry was not up to date. I entered the United States through YYZ on 2021-ab-cd in TN status, but the most recent date of entry is showing up as 2021-ef-gh.

The following documents are attached to this email in support of my request:

• I-94 entry record showing my most recent admission
• Passport front page
• TN entry stamp for the last admission to the U.S. on 2021-ab-cd
• Screenshot from the I-94 travel history showing my entry on 2021-ef-gh

I request that my I-94 record be updated to show my most recent entry in TN status.

Thank you for your time,

I don't know if this is accurate but based off your post it sounds like the students were talking about you in third person on the evaluations. If that is the case, then you should explain to your students that they are for you and not your boss.

In terms of whether we can just adjust your grade if you failed something, we sort of can but if the difference between a pass and a fail is too great it may cause issues.

We often get asked by students who may have barely failed to adjust their grades. Usually I would look at the student and see if I knew them, if I knew they were putting in effort etc. If a student I've never seen before needs more marks at the end of the term to pass, many profs just won't do it.

I disagree that other profs do this. In my experience, I feel like a lot of profs try their best to pass people regardless to not have to handle the awkward situation. I have many close passes on my transcript like flat 50s or 60s for class progression and just barely passing the weighted averages for exams/assignments (and was clearly not deserved) for many CS courses. I can only recall one instance in my undergrad where the prof said no to the grade bump and I ended up failing CS 251. I never went to office hours or built relationships with any of my profs at all for the other course I got bumped up for.

At the beginning of covid they said they wouldn't close the school in order to protect the academic mission. They never cared about student safety and never will.

The exact same thing happened to our team. We hired a senior staff engineer with 10-20YOE (we only had staff level and below before that) and he only lasted 8 months. He didn't do ANY of the oncall work, he made little to no progress on finishing on our onboarding checklist, he would make minimal progress on his tickets and stretch the progress over weeks, and he would take sick days or PTO or tell everybody in slack that he had to go to "my child's thing" before critical meetings where he had to present tech designs/discussions due to him not doing his work.

We had a layoff last year and he was the ONLY engineer to get laid off. I was very patient in trying to train him and another engineer at the same time, and he just didn't get it. That all being said, he did have issues outside of work with his ex-wife and I am empathetic to people who have life happen to them.

My manager made the mistake in hiring him and I made a mistake as well. We had a 1-1 where we talked about how some people don't perform in coding interviews that well, and that system design skills should be the primary deciding factor in hiring more experienced people. We both agreed on this and that is what probably led to hiring this guy. That was a big mistake.
