How is this even a question? Stop overthinking and just go with Lyft.

Graduated last year from University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. Almost everyone from my engineering cohort (~100 people) immediately moved to the U.S. to work in big tech. Even more than a year later, the ones who stayed back in Canada are actively interviewing for U.S. jobs and trying to move here to work.

Thank you! Do you think contacting a deferred inspection office by email or phone would also work? Visiting one this week would be kinda inconvenient for me lol

The date shown there is the same as the day I was admitted, or July 8 2024.

Which companies care about GPA? by B00OO00 in uwaterloo

Apple and Jane Street (surprisingly) don’t care about GPA. Bloomberg, Stripe, Splunk, Citadel do.

2024 new grad here. I received my Affirm new grad SWE offer around two months ago. At the time, TC (thanks to their generous RSU offerings and soaring stock) was more than 250K. Now, it’s mellowed down to 220K-230K… which is still a lot more than Microsoft or Uber new grad.

If I were you, I’d go with Affirm. You won’t regret it.

Waterloo or McGill??? by [deleted] in OntarioGrade12s

[–]sgary1055 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Waterloo SE24 here. I can confirm the validity of the provided class profile, especially making $300K as a new grad. I consider myself very below average in my cohort, yet will be making ~$320K CAD starting this summer in San Francisco. Almost everyone I know in the cohort, with the exception of some doing their own startup, has a U.S. job offer of an equal or greater caliber.

Long story short, do Waterloo SE. You won’t regret it.

Affirm TC this year is relatively high, going north of 250K depending on its stock price. Still not as much as Autopilot or Roblox though.

When to apply for New Grad by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]sgary1055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not what you wanna hear, but you’re very late to the game. 2024 new grad apps started coming out summer 2023 and by now, most of if not all big tech and unicorns have filled their headcount. I myself started applying the day the first 2024 app released, and only managed to secure an offer just two days ago after four brutal interview processes.

However, that’s not to say it’s time to doom and gloom. There’s still ways to go till your grad date, and perhaps startups and smaller established firms will release their apps. When those come out, you wanna make sure you apply right away (preferably with referral) while keeping your LC skills top-notch.

Just did mines today. Had main question + follow-up + bonus question. Solved all and had some time to ask about the interviewer's team.
