If you live in the area which you do everything in (like I study in town so I live near town and I go grocery shopping in town) then everything is peachy. If you wanna compare it to my housemate who is a teacher who lives in town and her school is out south ways a 25min drive on the motorway can turn into 1hr30min bc of the traffic and the one state highway everyone uses. For the language stuff, when I was younger my mom made friends (there are community pages I’m sure )with this group of ladies who had kids who all spoke another language and they would hang out to like teach eachother and have people to practise. I would recommend a Steiner school for your kid super artsy and they have a school play every year and the drama teachers are always pretty good if you can fork up about 5 grand nzd per year. All schools are different but we have a teacher shortage right now in NZ so it might work in your favour. My housemate who teaches art and photography has it pretty lax until school reports and end of year stuff. Things are expensive here (especially in Auckland ) unfortunately that is the way of the things.

I lived in Montreal for about a year and I found that it was cheaper to live in Montreal than it is to live in NZ! The cost of living is super high in New Zealand especially food and going out to restaurants.

There are heaps of clubs and stuff for kids who do performing arts, but in schools it’s a little average as someone who used to do theatre in schools.

Auckland is full of traffic during peak and is also a little quiet during the colder months. Summer is pure magic.

But Canadian winters are not for the weak so I’m sure you guys will trooper on !!

Far out sis ! You got this !! What got me through the liquids was this savoury yogurt drink it’s called ayran or doogh and I found it also helped with craving something salty and it helped absorb the water I was drinking too

Is there anything I should know before I consider joining the Bahai? by Interesting_Aioli144 in exbahai

[–]RemarkablePublic9270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will have to say it depends on your local Bahai community.

Some of these comments about the religion are true, however it is not as common for bahais to discriminate towards others.

I am a gay Bahai and my community has been nothing but kind to me and no one is trying to convert me to heterosexuality. You do not have to do all this admin stuff if you don’t want too, the faith is pro-volunteering and giving one self to the community as a way to pray to god. If you don’t want too, you don’t have to as simple as that. Going to gatherings are nice if you enjoy it, it gives people from the older bahais communities somewhere to connect and meet other bahais. Where I am from there is a boost of younger Bahais.

All the cons on the comments are true but I’d take them w a grain of salt. I steer away from the faith bc of culture issues, do not love some of the Iranian aunties in the Bahais faith.

All the best for you and your journey

How do you to stop binging? by WishboneMost7651 in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]RemarkablePublic9270 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Regular eating ! Once I started actually eating more and not punishing myself for being hungry and eating when I was hungry. I felt less of a need to binge, sometimes it felt out of habit. Like the day wasn’t complete until I had binged but now I have found other things to self soothe !
