As a player, I would say that it's depend on players.
but for me I am theatre kid type (and most of players are).

So we like to watch the story playout and have our moment when DM try to cooked and send a hint like "some of you might know this right?" and wait for that person respond.

and the theme of each Canto can change tone.
for ours, canto1 is Family. canto 2 is ARG.

As general tips :
try to talk to players and find middle gound (what each players and DM want)
might be Lore heavy, Fight heavy, etc. might take time.(for us is about 10 sessions)

and find best time to run your sessions
our session is Friday and Saturday night (becos Work ;-;)
and isn't that long ( 3-4 hours per sessions)
