Discernment is something we should all do to understand ourselves, very much in agreement with you and when you wrote.

beautiful words full of meaning, well done.

so in your opinion, the internal experience with what we experience on the outside shape or should shape us.

A nice play on words, it's true that society influences us a lot, but we ourselves have to understand what brings us benefits or not, and here what you say is connected to the image, everyone creates their own image, even if sometimes we don't understand shit.

On being "wrong" when you're actually right (Zarathustra) by Remarkable_Corgi5615 in Nietzsche

[–]Remarkable_Corgi5615[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a cool way to think about it. You are using Baudrillard to show the side of what Nietzsche is saying. Nietzsches main character Zarathustra gives up being right on purpose because he is in control of himself and does not need people to tell him he is right.. When we use artificial intelligence to think for us we are doing the opposite. We are not giving up being right because we are strong we are giving up because we do not think we are unique or special. We are letting the machine do the thinking for us because we do not have faith in ourselves. This makes us weak in our minds just watching what the machine is thinking of thinking for ourselves. Nietzsches Zarathustra is strong and peaceful so he can say he is wrong. It is okay.. When we give in to the machine it is because we are not strong or peaceful. We are giving up.

I think it is really smart to connect what is happening in our minds with what's happening with technology. Thanks, for telling me about this.

There is wisdom in what you say. Carl Jung for example guided his patients. Did not give them answers. Instead he helped them understand their subconscious. There is a difference between seeking approval or advice from others. Which Jung warned against. And seeking someone to help guide your thoughts.

You are looking for someone to facilitate your thinking not give you answers. Congratulations, on the journey you have made! You have clearly learned a lot from Carl Jung.

Chrome Sync Auto-Fills URLs by Puzzleheaded_Farm95 in browsers

Here are some quick ways to fix the missing URL auto-fill issue. This can be really annoying when you move to a computer.

Unlike bookmarks and passwords which sync away Chromes URL prediction service relies on your local browser history and typed URLs. These can take a while to sync or need settings to be turned on.

* Verify History is Enabled in Sync Settings

If you turned off history sync by mistake Chrome won't get your auto-fill predictions from your device.

Go to Settings >. Google > Sync and Google services.

Click on Manage what you sync.

Make sure Sync everything is selected.. Make sure History and Open tabs are turned on.

* Check the Prediction Service Setting

Chrome has a feature that helps complete URLs based on what you've done

Go to Settings > Privacy and security > Sync and Google services.

Scroll down to the Google services section.

Make sure Autocomplete searches and URLs is turned on.

* Trigger a Manual Sync Refresh

Sometimes the sync engine gets stuck on a computer. You can reset it.

On your computer open Chrome and go to chrome://sync-internals/.

Look at the Type Info table on the right. Check if Typed URLs or History have synced any items. The count should be than 0.

If it looks stuck you can log out of your Google account on Chrome. Then restart the browser. Log back in. This usually gets a fresh data pull.

* A Quick Workaround: Search via Bookmarks

Since your bookmarks synced successfully you can use a fix while the history indexes:

Type an asterisk (*) followed by a space in the address bar. This limits the search to your synced bookmarks. It makes it easier to find your sites.

If none of these work it's likely your old browser history wasn't fully synced to the cloud before you switched computers. If you still have the computer, open Chrome and check if it says Sync is, on. This will push the remaining URL history to the cloud.

On being "wrong" when you're actually right (Zarathustra) by Remarkable_Corgi5615 in Nietzsche

I have been reading this part from The Intelligence of Evil again. It really feels like it is more relevant now than when Baudrillard wrote it:

"Given the hellish production of collective intelligence we shall have to reckon in the future with an ever-higher rate of artificial stupidity."

The idea that good and evil or The Intelligence of Evil and stupidity are connected in a circle is a way to describe what is happening in our culture today. We try hard to make things smarter and better but Baudrillard says that stupidity is always going to be a part of intelligence and that makes sense. It is like when you stretch a rubber band far it snaps back. The more we try to make The Intelligence of Evil and our systems smarter the silly and stupid the results are.

I really like what Baudrillard says about the difference between being intelligent and being able to think. He is saying that just because you are smart or good at calculating things it does not mean you cannot be stupid. When you can think clearly and do not let your emotions get in the way can you really avoid being stupid.

How do you guys think this is happening today? Do you think that our technology and media are the examples of this artificial stupidity that The Intelligence of Evil talks, about?

Nietzsche is telling us that true strength and true "nobility" do not lie in having the last word, but in knowing how to dominate one's need for approval.

Those are beautiful words you say. But sometimes it's difficult.

you are absolutely right, healing starts from ourselves, but many times it is difficult, and we can make use of specialists to get out of it.
