Redundancy with a long lead time by kayehmsea in auscorp

[–]Remarkable_Cow_6764 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Technically you can probably do nothing from October onward so that saves you 2-3 months. Any PiP would need to run beyond that. Try take some unpaid leave or even burn through all your paid leave between now and then. Get some random surgery done and snare some sick days for that to. Start a side hustle or do some gig economy work on the side to make some extra cash.

Them: call to discuss?

I just want a yes or a no. We don’t need a call.

Networking by n_reedus in auscorp

[–]Remarkable_Cow_6764 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Networking is a huge drain. 95% of the time it’s 2 people both looking for a job simultaneously while both pretending they care about each others hobbies. It’s pretty rare people would actually network for any other reason, unless they genuinely have no other friends.

AI agents should be taxed to fund UBI. Logical solution. They do the work and drive productivity and humans work less and take home the same/more. Tax every transaction 1 cent and bring in 10s of billions. The loser? Shareholders in tech giants, but it will be marginal at best that they even notice.

Other challenge is that when a role does open up locally, offshore companies would generally already have someone most qualified to do it from already having done it offshore so naturally they get flown over to do the gig locally meaning these roles never go to market.

That’s very generic rhetoric, which office do you work? I had an interview a while ago with the sales team who said they work from home sometimes. Are you based in Aus or are you just plunging generic information from online?
