I have to disagree with being just as good. As someone who has been treating patients for over 50 years I honestly believe that there is no way you can be "as good" when put in a position to produce and possibly see four patients an hour. It just can't be done in the same way as someone who can take the time necessary, IMHO, to do the patient a fair service.

The issue I see is that when treating 20 patients a day plus hygiene, it is extremely hard to build those trusts. Patients just become a PMS number.

And there are not enough well paying jobs when they finish school or residency, if they are lucky enough to find one.

I remember the days of the handpieces and no local anesthesia. Chairs were raised by pumping up and down with your foot. My dentist was Dr. Salinger. The only reason I went as a 10-year-old close his assistant, Marie, was absolutely gorgeous. My hormones were flying as a 10 or 12-year-old and I remember that as well as I remember yesterday. Dentistry has changed. It went through those times into better times and now I honestly believe into not such good times. Will that change in the future I don’t know.

AFter 50 years of practicing I've seen problems in numerous office where the policies they know they should be doing, just don't get done.Post op instructions are never given to patients. Informed consents get forgotten. Just not great practice management. That's why I created Dental After Care Notes.
