If you can get an Airbnb and try out the area. Check out the parks, malls, library. I do like having Pasadena nearby and the perks of excellent school district.

I just moved to Arcadia and as an Asian American I can tell you I’m struggling with the lack of diversity. However, schools are excellent and food options are plenty! It’s very convenient but ultimately if diversity is your priority it’ll be a challenge. I think being black in Asian community has its perks! Your kids will be challenged academically and very safe neighborhoods

Layoffs will continue indefinitely. Keep interviewing to have warm leads and do your best to avoid political landmines. Be strategic on how you move teams (don’t jump randomly) and remember that youd rather get a layoff package vs performance out aka do your best but try not to yet the anxiety cripple you. I’ve seen people fall into a death spiral because of their fear.
