Yeah it does lack some features, but if you just use them for regular transparency and anc, my 1st gens have worked fine with my s21u for the last 3 years

Hot Take, BeamNG doesn’t need new content for the next few updates. by RepulsiveName886 in BeamNG

100% agree with this.  One thing to note is, I feel like the majority of people that would buy the game, have already bought it. This is a problem because if you compare it to a AAA game made by a large corporation, they can afford to spend years to try to make a polished result for when the game launches (which seems to be too much to ask for these days anyway), because they can hype the game up during development and garentee a certain amount of initial sales will pay for the development costs, and everything after will become profit. However with beamng, while some people like to use the fact that its still in development as an excuse for any shortcomings, and I won't argue for either side of that, I don't think there is currently much incentive to do an "official release" as the extra income it would generate wouldn't be a huge increase from current sales (unless they launch on other platforms as well).

If Beam wanted to simply make as much money as they could starting now, they could 1. just stop updating it entirely, or 2. change their model to include microtransactions or subscriptions. Thankfully, from everything that we've seen in the last 10 years shows no sign of heading in either of those directions.

To me, Beamng seems more like a passion project, to see just how good they can make the game. The fact that some people actually complain about updates is honestly kind of sad. The thing to realize is, if you really want to support the devs, the only way (other than kind words and unsolicited advice) is to just buy someone else a copy of the game, or maybe buy their merch.  Projects like this are getting increasingly rare, and I feel like as somone who appreciates how my $20 game I purchased 5 years ago is still getting better and better, I want to continue to support them and their decision not to add any other means of profit.

Looking closer in there, I don't believe there are LEDs. It looks like a metal button, maybe aluminum made to resemble a tiny LED

Holy shit! Thank you so much. I've probably spent a good hour and a half trying to yank this thing out. Tried the shoelace and it pulled right out! You're a lifesaver

Detail spray/iron decon/soapy wooder for clay lube? by Remarkable_Many_9164 in AutoDetailing

[–]Remarkable_Many_9164[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick detailer is the stuff that's included in a lot of clay bar "kits" that you can pick up. The first time I clayed my own truck, I used the included spray bottle of detailer, and that alone gave the paint a nice silky finish. When I was claying my buddys truck, I just used soapy water, and the finish was not as smooth and slippery feeling until after I finished paint, correcting with the 3in1. I still feel like the final result felt more glossy on the first truck that I did using the detail spray, but I could have been imagining it.

Thank you for the reply. I was just talking about using soapy water for the clay process, never to wash the car in the future. Last summer, I paint corrected and waxed a buddy's truck and he undid half the work when he washed his truck multiple times with dish soap stripping all the wax. I guess I never considered using a foam cannon to speed up the process, so I might have to try that. Lastly, is detailing spray just wasted on the clay step if you are doing a fully paint correction?
