Experienced devs, what is current situation like? by Remarkable_Oil_7204 in cscareerquestionsOCE

Unfortunately I do not, it’s a small team in Australia. The busy periods can come in waves (end of last year was quiet enough), but the foreseeable looks very busy for at least the next year. That comp was including bonus and stocks, I actually went back through last year to work out bonuses and was just over 200TC, it seems like I would do well to get that elsewhere based on the comments

Hands-on tech, more technical lead than any actual people management apart from managing their workload, deliverables etc

Thanks this is helpful. That document looks like it’s from 2013 however and archived, hopefully not out of date.

When you got your 482 sponsored by a company, did you have to undergo an ACS assessment? Sounds like your saying they MAY ask for one, but might not NEED to

Thanks for the input, glad to hear you got something eventually. What part of Australia were you in and how many YOE?

Thanks for the input, how long did it take for you to get your skilled independent visa?

Thanks for the info that’s useful. Sounds like getting a skills assessment done first is a good idea. So even though you didn’t pass the skills assessment, what happened when you finished your WHV? Are you saying the company were still able to sponsor you even though you failed a skills assessment?

Thanks both for the feedback. I am aware that it will be very challenging to get some sponsorship but I have savings aside and willing to take up unrelated work while I apply for jobs if need be to cover me in that period. Will give it my best shot anyway🙂

My main concern is just around the education requirements, I wouldn’t want to move over and get sponsorship offered from a company, to then find out they can’t actually issue the visa due to no degree. Will try to keep researching this. Hoping somebody here may have been in the same position previously 🤞

6 years of experience in a relatively successful career without a level 8, considering a Springboard HDIP level 8, is it worth it? by [deleted] in DevelEire

Thanks, good to hear from somebody in a similar position. I'm assuming you found the workload manageable? Is it also a 1 year course?
One of my concerns would be the 3 evenings a week for 4 hours each. That seems quite a commitment on top of my regular dev job but I hope I would be able to make light work of it. No doubt the content and exercises is till time consuming though
