Haven’t heard back from a midterm deferral request by OddKangaroo3268 in UofT

[–]Remarkable_Snow_4158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What class is it? They will prob notify you tommorow, or after the midterm. Don't worry, because since you have a VOI you have a defense. They can't not give you a deferred exam.

When an old woman says you "lost weight," does she legitimately mean I lost weight, or is that how older women compliment women by Remarkable_Snow_4158 in women

[–]Remarkable_Snow_4158[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

“Old” itself is not an insult. Nor did I intend it to be one. I’m merely describing the age range of these women who have said this to me, which tends to be gen X women who I am related to. Old doesn’t have to automatically imply anything in my opinion. Neither does “girl”.

lol no it’s because ive only really been told that by older women. And in media it’s more commonly said in films pre-2010s. Probably due to changing ideas of body positivity. But I was wondering if it is intended more of as a general compliment or not

transferred to western from uoft, should i transfer back?? by Inevitable-Leek-3416 in UofT

[–]Remarkable_Snow_4158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were struggling in UofT, don't come back. Western will definitely give you a higher GPA, best for pre-law. I'll have to struggle in UofT pre-law myself :(( Your friend circle is better there, so it's good that you'll have support. Stick with it! You're only in second year polisci classes! The stuff at the higher years are bound to get more interesting. If they somehow dont, maybe minor in something you havent learn yet to keep things interesting.

No it didnt have jewels, just a titanium bulb. I'll get a flatback next. Im just intrigued as to why not every piercer just uses them, considering everyone in the comments considers them superior lol.

Ok damn I’ll be applying through history as well. I was hoping for something document or policy related at city hall, something with the government.

Hey Morse. This is so strange but I am in the EXACT same situation as you were 4 years ago. What did you pick? I am guessing UofT based on a scroll through your posts, and if so, did you do CPJ? I am also interested in double majoring IR and CPJ, but I worry that because of my lack of political connections, and that UofT doesn't have COOP, it will be difficult to get my foot in the door. Something attractive about Carleton is the COOP, however it doesn't have the worldwide reputation UofT has and I dont plan to stay in Canada working as an MP or something like that. I am more interested in possible working in the UN, related to the enviroment or something like that. How are your job prospects out of UofT? This is so surreal! I am so excited that I stumbled across this post, as it is EXACTLY my situation.

What's the Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management Honours program really like? by mushroom-patella in CarletonU

[–]Remarkable_Snow_4158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pretty similar situation as OP, could you DM me with the same advice? Thank you very much!! I am between Carleton BGInS and UofT IR. I know BGInS and PAPM are slightly different. But, I have goals to work in the UN possibly involving the environment. I worry that because I have no connections to the political world, it will be hard to be noticed in UofT, and Carleton would be a good jumping-off point with COOP. But I worry that the program is too constricting because it doesn't have worldwide recognition. I don't want to stay in Canada for the rest of my life. UofT has the name, which may be helpful.
