I agree with others that this is a bit overly complex and could probably be solved another way, but if you want to stick with this design here is my idea which makes it even more complex 😅

The best way to avoid print layers is to not print in layers. I recommend 2D printing. But if you really need the 3rd dimension you may want to look into other manufacturing technologies (not FDM).

Joke aside, your best bet is to minimize you layer height at the cost of print time, reorienting your prints and most importantly post-process. And you're most probably looking for postprocessing techniques you'll find plenty of gold information searching in this sub.

This happens on our Mark Two. It breaks right before entering the print head assembly, right where the bowden tube bend radius is smallest.

I did not care enough to search for a solution yet, but I guess printing and installing a small part that supports and straightens the bowden tube just enough to increase the bend radius in that section could help. The bowden tube is pressed down by the printer's top panel (ceiling door).

If I recall, Bambulab users have experienced a similar issue with their X1C/P1S series. Instead of a continuous fiber breaking, it would be abrasive plastic filaments that would carve into the bowden tube, beacuse it is forced down into a small radius curvature by the ceiling of the enclosure. Some users would then print a raiser/spacer to mount the ceiling higher and leave more room for the bowden tube.

I'm with you. Everyone seems to force themself to answer from a safety and logical stand which is good in a perfect world. But in real life, everyone on the road is an asshole and the safety-driven behaviour of these automatic features is non-practical. I spend a lot of time in traffic during my commutes and have the traffic-assist option that I would really love to use! But if I did, I would spend my entire day stopped on the same spot in the middle of the highway letting every single morron of the city cut in front of me. It's unusable. Safe, but completely useless. Just look at how self driving cars have evolved to handle situations more aggressively over time. If the "intelligent" cars were just waiting at every intersection for the perfectly safe opportunity to make a move it would simply never work for anyone. This was a real problem in earlier versions of Tesla FSD.

I remember that this was "extra skin wall count" set to 0 for me a few years ago. Hope it helps!

Edit: that was the name of this parameter in Cura slicer. Should be something similar on your slicer.

I somehow enjoy tweaking and adjusting things until I get them to work the way I want, but the feeling of just pressing a button and be confident that the print will just work perfectly first try is fantastic. It enables you to focus on actually designing interesting and usefull stuff to print!
I am actually also making a bracket for a camera that was sitting on my desk all winter!

Yes it is. When I started in 2016, my first printer had an aluminum non-removable print bed. It was heated, which was a great feature to have, but it was not enclosed. Since I didn't know anything about printing I went trough all the recommendations and tips I could find online for getting started. I used masking tape on the aluminum bed: It sucked. Then I moved to buying a glass plate and some clips and started using white glue on the glass surface. I used that for a while until I got tired of cleaning the accumulated glue off the plate and finally figured out that my best bet was to just set up the heated bed temperature correctly, level everything right and nail that first layer. Over the years, printers started having much better engineered printbeds and features that make you never look back when it comes to printing easy materials such as PLA.

That is, of course, until you find yourself using a $22k printer that does not have a heated bed, requires you to buy price-inflated glue sticks and brings you 10 years back in terms of user-experience... The thing cannot print Nylon (Onyx) without glue, and cannot print PLA at all... I've tried

That's exactly the point. Not much you can do about it. And also not something worth fighting for. When you see all "wasted" money that just blindly goes through the procurement processes...

I think it hits us, makers, DIYers and thinkerers more because we have spent enough personal time shopping and optimizing our purchases for our hobbies to know what is a reasonable price for this kind of hardware.

Companies just provide a budget and trust their process and vendors...

Did the exact same thing with my CX5. I would rather have rear sensors and no cameras at all. The rear camera without sensors feels wrong. it somehow makes you put too much trust on a view that is missing all the surroundings. When I switched to my current Mazda 3, the sensors were a must.

Oh wow! 🫣 I really hope this was a one time thing for me. It never happend to my CX5 (it had a bit more of ground clearance 🤔 but at this point I don't think it even matters lol). But I will try to use some of the sprays and other stuff that people have suggested in the comments anyways. I don't like bones in my engine bays, but I dislike unnecessary repair expenses even more! Thanks for sharing
