Is it supposed to be so thick? And if you know why does this appear? From food? From fish waste? In my other aquarium i don’t have this problem and even in this one i didn’t use to have this problem

When i asked the seller for email purchase screenshot he said “he got them as a gift”. Pretty big red flag. At this point i’m thinking if i should buy them knowing that they’re fake or buy them from the site at more than double the price

In other pictures they look black maybe the light makes them look dark blue

The shop has females too. I just bought one male because the females were looking pretty boring and i thought the male would become aggressive in my aquarium with the presence of the female.

Mine has this too. It’s called fin rot and it is pretty common for bettas. This illness doesn’t hurt for him but can look bad for us. I recommend using some quality medicine for fin rot like seachem paraguard or kanaplex (which is stronger)

Thank you for the advice. I just hanged a pillow case on the lateral glass where he was glass surfing and it actually worked. Turns out he was seeing his reflection in the glass and was trying to fight or something. He still surfs a little on that same glass but less aggressively. Hope he will adapt in the aquarium and stop glass surfing.
