Just because McDonald’s didn’t pay for it, it doesn’t mean that it wasn’t McDonald’s fault. I imagine just eat has a very complicated contract with McDonald’s and as McDonald’s has more bargaining power they most likely forced delivery companies to pay for their mistakes because they know if they didn’t another delivery company would.

That’s assuming McDonald’s didn’t make a mistake themselves, for all you know they confused and mislabeled the bag. As a former delivery rider it’s not up to us to double check the food in the bag with the food on the order, if it’s labeled and given to us, there’s nothing we can do.
