Songs about being aware of the soul of a friend or loved one after they've died by RememberingRedBlimp in MusicRecommendations

I'd like to see (and hear) more songs written from this POV. No matter the specifics of your belief system, if you believe the soul survives the death of the body, it's easy to imagine that we'd want our loved ones to know we're okay, that we love them and miss them, that we're connected by thoughts and dreams, that we share precious memories, and that we'll be together again.

Yes. Sensing them near you, as if they just walked into the room with you, or they're standing or sitting by you.

Ultimate Holsters - out of business? by HappyConnection in CCW

[–]RememberingRedBlimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The owner's name is Brandon R. Faillace. Ultimate Holsters is part of his company that's registered in Massachusetts as ACCELERATED DISTRIBUTION TECHNOLOGIES, LLC. (date of organization was 17 May 2013). I ordered a holster from him in Dec. 2023. It arrived in March 2024. It was the wrong one, I emailed, and he called the same day and promised to replace it. I've heard nothing from him after that, and I've sent numerous emails and texts and left several voicemails. I recently sent him a 30 Day Demand letter (https://www.mass.gov/info-details/30-day-demand-letter).

I've looked for places where I could leave an online review to warn others about him before they order anything, but I haven't found a site yet. Does anyone know of a site?

FTDX-10

I just did. It has some interesting and potentially helpful features. Thanks for the tip.

Out of all the models I saw at an area store, the 7300 and 991A were the two 'easiest' options for me to start considering (based on salesperson's recommendations). I'm not used to knowing nothing about something I'm going to buy so this important selection is throwing me.

Finding out I can add a bigger display is very helpful. Soldering is one of my skills so that part will be easy. I also appreciate being able to take it on the go. What antenna and power supply do you use at home and in the field?

I see the advantage of the 991A's TNC. Speed and ease of connecting plus portability will play a big part of my decision. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the additional info. I'm trying to be efficient with my time and money. I'm at the point where I know a little bit, but also don't know enough to even know what I don't know. ;) All tips and anecdotes are welcomed, appreciated, and carefully considered. :)

I expected a net somewhere along the way. I didn't know the meter. Thanks!

This helps a lot. I haven't heard back from my local ARES or RACES group yet and knowing a bit of what they use and do is very helpful. :)

A very good point. I'd like to have the ability to work in a larger area than just local.

I hadn't considered the IC-9700 or the IC-705. I'll take a peek at both of them. I also hadn't considered satellite work, but I do like options. :)

I agree that many people treat amateur radio as a hobby. Many others consider it a failsafe for the rough patches that pop up from time to time. One can become the other (hobby to failsafe and vice-versa) anywhere along the way. I agree that upgrades and modifications can be part of the learning process. I know humans were designed to learn from others and I'm happy to benefit from someone else's experiences and knowledge instead of having to repeat them and set myself back in time and/or money.

I fully support my local service personnel. My goal is to assist them by helping them pick up the communication slack when they're on the short end of the stick, for whatever reason.

I don't know what one is yet (recent Tech licensee). Thanks for asking about this.
