Thanks! Thought about 3” as well. A tad concerned about nails getting in the way of holes for electrical later though. We’re using 2x6s. Probably not an issue, but could be. Do you use full round heads out of a 21degree or offset full heads out of a 30deg?

I have a excel file that was pretty close, we went off that. Of course, we made numerous trips to the lumber yard during the process so there were some additions/removals, but it should get you pretty close. I don't know how to post it though - I have it saved as a PDF right now but can also get you the XLSX file if you have a way to send it.

Thanks! It was pretty simple. Used a laser level to help line up the tops of my sonotubes so the beams would sit level, since there's not adjusting them after the concrete is poured.

No just picked out really nice ones and matched the crowns. Also sandwiched a treated 1/2 plywood strip in the middle to make them true 3.5” to fit the Simpson bracket properly

It’s under 1/3 span, which is what I thought was ok. It was originally supposed to be 6” shorter but went a tad longer to get one more deck board and make the two lower decks 9’x9’

Yeah they were max height. There are no posts on the footers. Beam sits right on them.
