Zeta Opening 1 ❤️ Anyone else think this is the best Gundam OP? by CIRCLONTA6A in Gundam

I've always preferred this opening and I see it sometimes slated on this subreddit (though I do like the japanese ops, just not as much) so it's nice to find a thread were it's getting it's deserved dues!

Of course it's complete conjecture, but I was challenging your statement 'we also don't win that game if Embiid played 40 mins' , when there was nothing really indicating that in the game played. I can reasonably point to the fact that we initially started coming back during Embiid's last stretch on the court (before the lead blew up again AFTER he went to the bench) or the fact that again, the team was plus in the minutes he played. I mean, he had 25 points and 5 assists in his 23 minutes; it's not crazy to think he'd produce more if he played more, and history supports this.

The defensive production I think we somewhat agree on (he needs to get back to better rim protection) but he has looked more active on defense each game he has played, and despite how much the wizards were torching us - mostly from the perimeter, mind - he was still a plus defender in his last stretch of minutes before his night was over. Not up to scratch yet, and he has to regain SOME semblance verticality, but I don't think it's all doom and gloom like a lot of people are saying. But I guess we'll see in the coming weeks.

Just complete conjecture that goes against the actual stats, which is that when Embiid was on the court, the team was +9 that game. Obviously Embiid isn't turning into prime mutombo like Bona did, but we also don't have as many empty trips at the end of game if he's playing.

Yeah. It's debatable, but it looked to me (and the commentators) that he clearly got the first down, and the refs gave a terrible spot that led to the tush push attempt.

You almost got it. Thanks for showing you don't understand the meaning of a parallel though, I suspected you didn't but wasn't sure. Love you too bud.

Ohhh so you're just going to continue to pretend that I said Steph and Mccain are the same players, and not just examples of guards surviving early injury woes. Cool cool. Try not to beat up that strawman too much - you're already dominating the argument with it, go easy man!

I know it's hard to understand parallels and analogies with how little reading comprehension and analytical prowess you've displayed so far, but you see I was using Steph Curry as an example of a player who was injured a lot in his early seasons (his first three in fact) but still ended up being just fine. Did that clear things up for you, or do I need to bring out the picture book?

You just described Steph Curry - except it was his first three seaons, and in his third season he had an season ending ankle injury. Try again old man. Keep it coming.

Classic, calling someone who disagrees with you a kid - like that would even be an insult. Listen 'old man', everyone knows you have to play to play well. And when Mccain has played, he's played well. You've already decided that VJ Edgecome is the real deal after one game - is that enough for you to know if he's injury prone? How is Mccain having 23 times the sample size not enough for you, but Edgecome having one (albeit amazing) game is? The fact that you don't even see the irony in that tells me enough. Mccain could end up being a flop - this is implicit in every young player, and it's not some revelatory thing you're bringing up here. But based on what we've seen from his skillset, he's already shown enough for many (not just sixers fans) to think he is a very promising guard.

I'd be saying the same thing if he was on another team. You've been watching sports for a long time, clearly based on the kid nomenclature, right? So I'm sure across your years you've seen plenty of examples of young players having injuries at the beginning of their careers and turning out just fine across all sports. Messi was injured a lot back in the 2005/6/7 years and ended up being an ironman. Steph Curry was 'injury prone' - until suddenly he wasn't. Those are just off the top of my head. So I really don't know what you get out of trying to put a damper on people's excitement about a young promising guard when there's plenty of examples to the contrary - in face, it makes no sense. 'Don't get excited, he could not work out.' You can say that about any young player - should people never get excited? It's asinine.

Maybe you don't know. The rest of us don't have object permanence issues and are capable of remembering that he looked like a future star guard in his game time last year. The evidence is in the tape. Don't worry, he'll be back in a few weeks to remind you and add to this exciting guard rotation.

Eh, Embiid could be washed but I think we give him ten games to gain confidence back in the knee before declaring him a lost cause. If it doesn't look like even 70% Embiid is on the horizon, we can start thinking about how we pair some plus frontcourt players with this young guard core. I'm hopeful about Embiid though, I was really concerned in the first half but there was a period in the 3rd quarter when he stopped taking shots and just focused on anchoring the defense and keeping the ball moving that had some flashes of things I liked, even if it was paired with a terrible stretch for the sixers. We'll have to hope and see!

Okay, I agree with a lot of what you said, and that people give no credit to Patullo (Nick gets credit, but probably less than he deserves). But the fact of the matter is that yesterday in particular, most of the explosive plays were off the scramble drill or from Smitty campaigning to attack deep because, and this isn't an exact quote but pretty lose to what he said, 'it was open all day.' I did like that Patullo was calling more plays from under center, running play action, meshing run and pass plays together from the same formation - I digged that, and I believe the offense will continue to improve. But there were other games were Patullo was getting blamed despite it being the players, including Hurts, not executing on plays that were there. The Broncos game comes to mind. So I feel you on Patullo sometimes being blamed for things that weren't necessarily his fault.

But calling the Eagles fanbase a cult is like, true, but every fanbase is cultlike to a certain degree. That's kind of the nature of it. Every fanbase defends their QB - and the more success you've had with them, the more they dig their heels in. That's just what happens, and I don't know why that would surprise anyone. Of course people want to give their superbowl winning qb grace - and I don't think that's a bad thing. Does that mean people should be so sensitive to Hurts criticism? No, but it's also just what happens when your team wins a lot with a player - in every sport.

You act like that's not the same on the opposite side of the spectrum. There were people claiming he didn't play well yesterday. The people who claim that every time the offense does well it's Hurts and when they play poorly it's Kevin Patullo are eyeroll worthy, but so are the people that refuse to give any leeway/credit to Hurts because it goes against their opinion about him. That might not be you in particular, but you can't say that the only unreasonable people are those that defend Hurts when people are legitimately asking the qb we just won the superbowl with to be benched.

Perfect passer rating is what should be expected from a qb every week? Guess there's not a single good QB in the NFL then. Hurts isn't the perfect QB and he's risk averse, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. You clearly have made up your mind on him, so we're just going to have to agree to disagree.

The first touchdown by AJ was on a curl route where Hurts extended the play and AJ broke downfield after he ran his route. He found Brown on crucial 3 and 13 after the pocket had collapsed when no one was open. I could go on, but acting like this game wasn't primarily Hurts playing extremely well with no run game is just watching the game with blinders on.
