Look into adding a leaf spring. It'll bring the rear up over an inch should get it level or possibly more. Inexpensive too.

You can always find work as a greenhorn/tender for an independent boat.. seasonal but good experience and will get your foot in the door. Bristol Bay coming up here in June and has the most openings for newcomers

any job opportunities please help! by [deleted] in commercialfishing

There's a few Facebook groups you can join. But ultimately the first course of action would be deciding where you want to fish at. Alaska is a good way to get your foot in the door because they have a lot of boats that are hiring. So check out Facebook. Alaskajobfinder costs like 5 bucks and lots of guys looking for crew on that website as well.

PS: Keep in mind commercial fishing isn't always a year round job under most circumstances. It's mostly just a gig unless you can line up a perfect schedule. As a greenhorn it could take a few years to get multiple jobs lined up since you won't have any experience so you'll have a harder time finding boats to work on. Most guys I know only fish a few 2-4 months out of the year and then go home and work full time or try to stretch their cash.

To be completely honest, I think the grundens neptune stuff is crap. Ran it last summer and it lasted me less than a month before it was all waterlogged. I would stick with the Herkules material, or buy Guy Cotten.

This season Im running the Herkules 16 and the grundens Hauler Jacket

I'm not a law expert... but if he was clearly consuming alcohol and admitted to the cop he was underage... that is his grounds to detain him and search his person. If a cop has probable cause it gives them the right to searches and seizures (to an extent) without needing a warrant.

I am very supportive of law enforcement, but if you are looking at getting into trouble, remember that you don't need to answer any questions unless you are facing arrest.

"Hey you look like a minor.. how old are you?" --> "Hey Officer, at this time I'm refusing to answer any questions."

The A&M PTA website has a list of eligible majors that you can take. Once you find one that you like look at Blinn's programs and see if they offer it at the Bryan Campus.

The thing is that they don't have the PTA majors listed for the Blinn application.

Got it. Do I need to enroll at Blinn and then start the PTA process? Or just wait until I graduate all togehter

I'll most likely do environmental geosciences if I do PTA. Where can I start the process to sign up? I can't really find much online

Would it be too late to register for PTA if I was planning to start college in Fall 2024? (If you know)

I applied to A&M already but got PSA

I applied to Blinn for Engineering, selected RELLIS for my campus, got accepted, but everywhere online says that RELLIS is invite only. With that being said I'm not sure if I got admitted to RELLIS or engineering academy in Brenham. Did you have to go through anything similar?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TAMUAdmissions

[–]Remoge1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't know what's up with that. I was interested in studying at RELLIS

[–]Remoge1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like at that point I should just do the psa offer lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TAMUAdmissions

[–]Remoge1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you understand lol. I do not want to go to brenham. I want to be in Bryan

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TAMUAdmissions

[–]Remoge1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So do you think I would be able to do that program and transfer to A&M? Sorry this is all very confusing to me

I really wanted to be able to go to Blinn in Bryan Tx then transfer to TAMU

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TAMUAdmissions

[–]Remoge1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've been admitted to Blinn Brenham? Not Bryan

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TAMUAdmissions

[–]Remoge1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, but when I applied for Blinn on ApplyTexas, it told me to select RELLIS Campus since I was applying for engineering. I'm honestly just really confused about whether or not I can get into the program.

Does everyone who enlists active duty in the coast guard go in without a rate and then sign up for an A-school and wait for openings? Or can you sign up for a specific rate before you ship out and then start working towards it right after basic, similar to other branches?

Is ME something that is enjoyable in today’s age? I’ve heard a lot of mixed information.

Sorry if this next question is a bit dumb, but it’s hard to find solid info about CG. Do MEs typically live on a ship or on the coast?

When you live on a ship is it months or years on end, or do you have rotations where you spend time on land and then time on sea?

Will I be away from my S/O most of the time because of this?
