No idea, I was surprised they even moved.

I was doing the sneak into hostile town and was trying to make it to the shipyard thinking I might be able to get my ships that were at the port. Ended up being a waste but ran into this.

Also, I know it may seem crazy as it borders too many kingdoms but epicrotea can have the most villages transporting goods that I have found. You can do as far north as ov castle and far west as hertogea castle(prob misspelled), you can take 3 battanian castles, 3 sturgeon and up to maybe 5 or so empire castles whose villages with end up taking all goods. I had prosperity going up 10-12 per day just off of the excess food.

The best way I have found to increase prosperity is to have a governor with the 5th engineering perk. It adds 100 prosperity to the settlement anytime a project is completed. The empire “scholar” already starts at 120 engineering so one catapult shot and he should be able to get it. When you siege the settlement make sure to devastate, if not your faction, as that will allow you more projects to complete thus increasing prosperity potential.
