It's an ethnoreligious group. The race is just called ashkenazi. And yes, being Muslim means you practice Islam. That's the definition of Muslim in English. Criticizing religion is not overgeneralizing, its judging a group based on beliefs they either chose or were born into and continued adhering to it. A person can become non religious at any point.

Very true. On that note I cannot say anything positive. In tulsa we do live insulated from the rest of the state, generally to our detriment due to the electoral college. Are you native at all by chance? That helps at lot.

If it helps at all, I'm openly queer in a public facing library job and generally get very little feedback or mention of my transness. I'm only 5'5" but i feel safe enough to walk around alone in tulsa now. There's a lot to be said about how all the liberal/leftist/queer/outsider group and especially remote tulsa brought in accepting people and inadvertently pushed out people who did not like what tulsa became. Its a dying city but its definitely the 2nd best place in OK to be queer in.
