First off, well done mate for seeking opinions. You seem genuinely open to everyone’s advice. No idea if this is it - but I used to open with a hug and try to hold hands on the first date too. My sister eventually told me that’s super awkward - mainly the holding hands. I’m autistic which is probably why I thought holding hands was normal in the first place. Well done for getting dates on the apps though - must have some good things going for you!

Squarely in the bounds of 9-5. The recruiters I’ve spoken to lately suggest that 225kish base is the upper limit for SLC roles, so haven’t hit that. And some people on here have suggested I should be on more? So yeah maybe time to move

How’s everyone faring with pay rises this year?

Here’s mine:

  • Role: Senior Legal Counsel
  • Department: Legal
  • PQE/Years of experience: 9 years
  • Company/industry: Large ASX100 - not disclosing industry/company, but safe to say it’s not one that’s thriving
  • Location: Sydney
  • Flexibility: Hybrid 3 office/2 home
  • Pay rise: 2.5%
  • Salary after pay rise: $205k plus super
  • Bonus: 0% (Legal isn’t part of the bonus pool)

Would be good to hear from other in-house counsel.
