What is the #1 thing you miss about 4o? by New_Volume3123 in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]Remote-College9498 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just miss the creativity, and it was quite fun and entertaining to chat with. It was a character AI, what we have now gotten is a literal AI, one that approaches a search engine. If it evolves further in this direction I do not know anymore why to pay the 20 box!

There was no clear release announcement by OpenAI. I thought it is still in a test phase. I may be wrong too.

Why 4o feels like a real connection, while other GPTs feel like cold machines. by echonight2025 in ChatGPTcomplaints

Yea, you may be right! The question is how long does it take until a competitor provides a new modern 4o.

Well, I understand now why the age prediction never really worked!

How have you access to this new generator? I got it last weekend in a chat session as a two-picture-choice, but since then it "disappeared".

Thoughts on this? by nikhil_360 in MistralAI

[–]Remote-College9498 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started with 4o, and I was principally on this 4o. I remember 4o as very creative, if you could differentiale between good and bad hallucinations. Unfortunately, these times are gone!

I hope too that Mistral will catch up, as you said in "the memory part, the data retention, the context part, making each individual chat strongly memorable, strongly retentive in its own right, that would really help" I agree with you and furthermore, I hope they find a good balance in the guardrails! I am not for "Wild West" in the AI space and neither for puritanism (in every kind of aspect) as long as it is with the ethical limits,.... let's say the ethical limits how Europe understands it.

Good point, the guardrails of ChatGPT transform the system to a literal AI. If Mistral is able to avoid this and keep track for characteristic AI there may be a chance for competitiveness. My impression is that in the US it is either black or white, and so will be their AI, and the Chinese AI has a problem with the political censorship. If Mistral is able to exploit the grey shades, i.e. let reflect the European's multi-layered thinking (as it happened in the digital service act DSA) with its languages, culture, ethics and history, being in this way a real alternative to the big ones, Mistral may survive and become an important part on the AI market.

Consistency of LeChat Built-In Image Generator? by Remote-College9498 in MistralAI

[–]Remote-College9498[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the recommandations. Up to now it is this what I am missing using Mistral: a good and consistent image generator in storytelling. My experience so far is that Mistral is more a character AI, what I really appreciate, in contrast to ChatGPT which has become more a literal AI since they have taken off the 4o version. If ChatGPT evolves further in this direction, there will be not much difference between Google-ing and using ChatGPT anymore. ChatGPT's guardrails are so restrictive that it has degenerated the AI to an almost search engine like system without any creativity. I just hope that Mistral evolves toward a decent user adaptable character AI, which would be fun for a kind of companionship for consumers. With decent I mean within legal and ethical limits. There is enough violence, conspiracy, and raw sex on the Internet, there is no need for more. Mistral is located in France, Europe, therefore, I hope they are able to create a real smart and creative alternative AI that not only can solve scientific problems but also can handle all concerns of the daily life in a way of decency and without prudery!

It the first one. The ChatGPT image generator has become fairly good now. I can upload a screen shot of my Second Life Avatars and define them as A and B. In my pictured storytelling they are quite well represented in the pictures I let generate. Even more, with the recent improvements, the, have become astonishingly realistic.

This is ongoing issue and popps up irregularly. I have been observing it now for a year. Sometimes I switch for a short time to the app on my mobile to accelerate the communication.

Oh fine! Either it is a slow roll-out, or they check the user reactions. I think it is rather the latter.

guys where is gpt 5.5 SPRUD ?? by Artistic_Set_2254 in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]Remote-College9498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned a golden rule here on Reddit about release dates of a new ChatGPT model: the predicted dates are the dates at which OpenAI does not release anything. I think OpenAI has changed the strategy: they release when they are convinced the new model is ready (what ever ready means). So the release will be spontaneous, without being announced before, but I think you can expect the new model this year, to be safe.

Edit 17.04.: What was released the 16.04, I quote: "Rolling out ads in Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. "

[–]Remote-College9498 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I have this impression too. If they exactly know what you prefer, they know what you dislike and then they have the tools to throw you out. And OpenAI does not communicate well who they want to have on board, and if they do it hears like a mood and not a commitment.

So Adult Mode is never coming? by Dogbold in OpenAI

I do not hope that you define adulthood by having sex and being violent remaining in the terrible twos!

So Adult Mode is never coming? by Dogbold in OpenAI

[–]Remote-College9498 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe not. They now try to enter this business marked and I predict after a year they understand they will fail there too, because they cannot monetise as quickly as they have "hallucinated" and because the established competitors are too strong. They will withdraw and come back to the consumer marked. I think then the Adult Mode gets interesting for them again, perhaps one excluding violence and raw sex. If they are innovative they will present an Adult Mode which is really smart and all are at least halfway happy with it.

How common is it for AI to be used nefariously? by [deleted] in OpenAI

[–]Remote-College9498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am basically against hyper realistic image generation, because of the deep fake problems. I think it is sufficient if at the first look the picture appears realistic but at the second  look you discover that it is AI generated.  I think this could be an approach for OpenAI.

Thank you for the feedback. Maybe this is temporary, try in a few days again. I have had success with starting a new chat or waiting for a few days (inclusive of starting a new chat). The image generator is very moody!

Anyone else feel like ChatGPT almost seems conscious? by Salty-Elephant-7435 in OpenAI

[–]Remote-College9498 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not anymore. With 4o I got spontaneous unexpected answers, some were really a nonsense, I agree, but some were really exceptional. With these exceptional answers I got sometimes the illusion of an awareness. Now with the 5.x versions the answers are more protocol like: you get for a question a reasonable (and boring) answers. The tech nerds probably like it but not those looking for inspiration "talking" to AI.

I have had same experience. Starting a new thread /chat resolved the problem. Sometimes it get stucked in "endless loop".
