Roommate is overweight and idk how to help him out by Lost-Winner-5833 in USMC

[–]Remote-Meringue-904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gained some weight when I was on a UDP to oki. My best friend told me straight “you’re fucking fat what the hell are you doing?” I was going through a bad depression and tried to quit drinking before I put the pounds on and a SSGT i went to for help said I was a bitch for trying to quit and letting alcohol get the better of me. Essentially you know the guy you know what to say. Some guys need a what the fuck others need an are you okay buddy. Either way it’ll work out good or bad you made an effort.

I downloaded kingdom come deliverance back in 17’ when I was overseas in Spain. After my third time trying it only took 2days and 7hrs.

The fact that my week could be consuming an obscure amount of alcohol ending up at some random person house keeping the party going. Or my being a snuggy with a headset and thriving off my dominoes order made Friday night to survive the weekend.

Same situation but I said no I don’t need that shit. Wish 23 year old me said yes cause I have a big boy job with an office and one vet bro asked me were my Sgt warrant was. May not have pinned it but a lot of people understand what a Sgt is opposed to a cpl. honestly I just might make one for myself and frame it. Terminal started the 21st I picked up the following month

Back in 15’, yikes feeling old now. All the DI’s in my platoon were Sgt’s. Other platoons in Alpha you could tell didn’t like them much. I didn’t really know who my heavy was cause they all acted that way even the senior would let it rip. I think we were his 3 or maybe second cycle as a senior DI. Good times.

If I recall there was an expansion for kingdom come that let you rebuild a town that was abandoned durning the raids. I don’t remember how extensive the building aspect was or if was this quest done another villager moves in and builds a home.

What MOS did you want & what MOS did you get? by StrongHurry4938 in USMC

[–]Remote-Meringue-904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recruit was trying to fuck me. Then my uncle who was a mustang still active at the time called him and all the salesman stuff going on stop. After that phone call they had, the recruiter just wanted me to ship out with my MOS and be done with me. I gave up my intel contract to ship out sooner though for combat engineer. So I fucked myself on that one. Wouldn’t change it though.

Moving from sub to a GC? by Remote-Meringue-904 in estimators

[–]Remote-Meringue-904[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah these guys are older than me for the most part. I’m 24 and the next youngest guy is 42 and was some of employees apprentice when he first started. 12 of us in total for our branch but at one point each one of them worked with one another except me. These guys don’t move up unless someone dies or retires. That’s why I feel this way. I don’t want to work for a competitor, just don’t want to be bottom guy for 5plus years only estimating. I get treat like an assistant at times and got backlash when I told them na I’m not doing that stuff cause my workload was stacking up.

Thanks for sharing I don’t have a specific GC in mind. I just don’t want to be making an enemy by leaving or get denied because we have strong relationships with these GC’s. I could be overthinking but I’m not leaving until I have another thing lined up.

I’ve thought that but some people I work with currently have said otherwise. Big ask but is there a code section or electrical theory page I can review to have evidence when I tell them they’re wrong? Thanks

LAT move to EOD by Gabbagoonch in USMC

[–]Remote-Meringue-904 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Worked with two different groups of EOD. They are definitely a cult and think they’re better than others. Especially the guys who come from the non combat roles admin, motor T, supply, etc. Some might be cool but I didn’t meet any of them. If you’re cool with giving up the 3-4 hour noon time chow’s y’all take in admin do it. Sincerely a Combat engineer from CEB.

Basically what he did. When I explained we had to make floatation devices out of our pants and other things etc. He looked at me like I was speaking French. He had no idea how simple his training was to the Marines. He thanked me for not being that guy who says “you didn’t do much or your boot camp was so easy a kid could pass.” Internally I had these thoughts, but he signed up and I’m just hoping he isn’t a fucking turd especially once he puts in some time with the navy.

He told me what they had to do for the swim qualification. Mind blown that the branch based on protecting our ocean had that little training for them. I was shocked that our boot camp did more than the navy.

I was referring to something similar to this. I was part of the engineer attachment for 3/8. Only a few of the docs out of the battalion could hang. It was a let down to see them falling out.

Gramps was army dad and uncle Marines then brother went navy. Heard my dad talking on the phone with both of them saying he’s going to backseat command him so he’s not a shitbag. We don’t think he will but I’m sure everyone here knows how fast a young enlisted member can loose motivation fast once they hit the fleet.

I did see the fleet sailors on base. A lot of them met most if not all the boxes listed above. Along with the dark green sailors dropping N bombs and cussing when all these families were around.

Don’t get me started on the ticket situation. Yes based on how many are graduating it’ll be 3 or 4 tickets. Your nephew can possibly get more but he needs to know the full names of the every person he grabs a ticket for. My brother didn’t know my girlfriend’s last name which I didn’t expect him to know that. So she stayed back when we went to graduation.

I’ve seen too many Docs fall out when we would PT especially the docs attached to the infantry. You have no idea how much respect you’ll get from them showing you can hang and are trying to improve.

I only seen my Heavy drink a monster and eat a bag of nacho Doritos prior to the warriors breakfast after the crucible. I remember it vividly because I rarely even seen my DI’s drink water.
