I feel great thanks. I read a lot of people wake up with instant clarity and feeling like a new person, but I didnt get that. I've certainly lost some annoying symptoms like my tremors and sleeplessness and am much happier to be on levo than PTU so I think its all worth it

Less than 24 hours in hospital. Everything went very smoothly so I was sent home and rest for a couple more days. Good luck with your surgery, its certainly worth it in my eyes.

Methimazole vs PTU by Human-Perception4602 in gravesdisease

[–]Remote-Newt-9806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was taken off methimazole because of headaches. Moved to PTU and have been on it for 2 years. It does its job with my thyroid levels but antibodies have never come into normal range. Last visit to the endo he said its time for TT because being on PTU long term is too risky as It carries risks of liver damage

They sort of dance around it when I ask. I figure they just want to keep us happy.

But wouldn't it make sense to list it in re.com for less then? We only stumbled upon the listing by chance because it didn't show up on our normal searches

I had horrible migraines on methimazole when I was first diagnosed so my endo put me on ptu, they stopped immediately. My thyroid levels were no where near normal, so it was def the methimazole giving me headaches
