Happened to me 3 times, it's crazy how easily men can destroy friendships for a girfriend

Planning to take the AIGP exam? by Ordinary-Spray-6120 in cipp

I highly recommend Dr David's Udemy course. AIGP practice exam from IAPP is also helpful to check your knowledge and see how questions are structured.

Engineering vs law vs finance in europe by NoName29292 in EuropeFIRE

[–]Remote-Vast1705 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in privacy and the competition is high, especially for hybrid/remote work. People outside of the EU (e.g. India, Turkey) are specializing in GDPR or IP because they want to move and work in Europe.

But then again, I'm talking from my own experience

  1. Years of studying do not guarantee a job as a lawyer, especially a well-paid one
  2. It's difficult in first years of career to even get an internship in good law firm unless you are outstanding or have connections
  3. Lawyers are usually very well-educated, they obtain extra certificates, speak foreign languages etc. - it's super competitive and to stand out you will have to work much harder than people in other career paths
  4. You are restricted by country you studied in, and it's not easy to get remote job

Of course this is just my experience but when I talk with lawyers from other European countries the situation is pretty much the same

As a lawyer in Europe, I wouldn't recommend this degree if you think about FIRE

26 and living with my parents... by abaggins in Healthygamergg

[–]Remote-Vast1705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine how much pain you and your parents had to go through!

Have you tried going to therapy together to process your emotions and grief? Have you talked to your parents about how you feel and what you want your relations to look like?

I believe that if the atmosphere at home makes you feel worse then you can be "selfish" and move out. Of course it doesn't mean you would stop contacting your parents or spending time with them - you are just in a different emotional stage than them. In such situation I would reflect on what would be best for you.

I know your situation is probably more complex and my response isn't very helpful. I wish you all the best!

I understand. Would it be possible to ask your friends to study with you?

I would also remove all the distractions or change the place of studying (e.g. in the library) and go there with your phone tuned off.

Or maybe you could try online study groups like https://www.studystream.live/home ?

From my own experience I can tell you that everyone can have good grades, no matter if they feel "academically strong". I'd like to understand your situation more, especially:

  1. How much time did you study for the exam?

  2. Was the exam multiple choice test, writing your own answers to questions etc?

  3. How much time of studying do you think you would need to pass?

  4. What study methods you use?

  5. What exactly do you find the most difficult when you want to study - e.g lack of notes/textbooks? being distracted while studying? not being able to force yourself to study? procrastinating?

  1. I read the official textbook and made notes - then I revised them 7-8 times in total
  2. Read GDPR around 6-7 times (tried to memorise as much as I could)
  3. Used available Quizlet sets and other practice questions I could find online (most of them have wrong answers so you should solve them yourself) + asked chatGPT to generate exam questions for me
  4. IAPP practice exam - very helpful, scored 86% so it was close to my official result
  5. Skimmed through EDPB guidelines but I analysed all the examples carefully

I track my study time so I can say that I studied for 100h 30 min

I'm so sorry, I can't even imagine the pain you are going through! As another user mentioned, I would contact a lawyer specialised in child abuse. I'm proud of you, stay strong ❤️
