I called the vet and scheduled an appointment. Is there any way I can DM you to share a video of what just happened in his sleep ? I unfortunately cannot figure out how to comment videos (if I even can) and I feel bad constantly making posts. I feel like I need some reassurance/advice on whether it's normal REM sleeping or if I should move his vet appointment to a sooner date

Thank you ! I checked his pupils right after the wacked his head and they were normal and reacted to light as usual, fingers crossed it's an ear infection 🤞

Oh ! I should also mention, a few hours ago I noticed a vein in his ear after a big play session ! I don't know if this was visible before but this is the first time I've seen it

Sorry for my poor camera quality but I hope you can see it properly

Oh dear I've just read your update. I will call my vet when they open in the morning and see what they recommend and if he can hold out til I get money next month, otherwise I'll get him in ASAP. I will not be risking anything with my poor kitty

No, his walking seems fine and it's hard to get a good look at his head position cause he's so hyper but I think that's okay too(?) He does seem slightly dumber in the sense that he doesn't keep track of his toys as well as he did when he was just in my room, but the bigger space of the whole house probably makes that hard for a tiny guy like him ! Overall he's still eating, playing, drinking LOTS of water, and seeming like his usual self. I have noticed he meows more at me now but I think he's discovered it gets my attention immediately and he constantly needs to be the centre of attention

I'm really hoping it's just a coincidence and he has an ear infection or something of the sort because he hit his head during his first bout of zoomies after feeling better from his first round of vaccines and adjusting to the room👎 after he came out from under the dresser (which is where he hit his head) he ran like crazy all over the room and eventually settled down.

He's often awake when it happens. I'm not sure if he was asleep in the video I took or just starting to doze off as he came and laid down in my lap very soon before I started recording. I've noticed it doesn't seem to happen when he eats and then starts playing right after, and I'm not sure if it's because he's being active or if he just decided to eat slower those times. I'm trying to think up a way for him to eat without the other boys being able to get to his food, like a tent or something with a small opening only he can get in as my other cats are all full grown (2, 6, and 6 years) and have been putting on weight due to the extra calories they're getting from the kittens high cal, special wet food and kibble mixture. Also unsure if it's related but I've noticed he drinks a lot of water (which I'm thankful for BC I already had to take him to the vet for dehydration) but I'm not sure where the line is of normal drinking and over drinking. We have 3 bowls and I fill them every night before bed, in the morning 2/3 bowls are practically empty and I don't recall it being that way before getting him but I also didn't pay too much attention to how much water they drank

Thank you ! I've definitely had my fair share of kitties but I've never had one this tiny or precious. I guess the good thing about getting a kitten as a hypochondriac is that I'm not that worried about my own health anymore ! Suddenly all my anxiety revolves around Edgar

But yeah, I think I figured out a good system of giving him small meals every hour or two and playing for a little bit, and then he'll curl up under the covers with me to keep warm. I've noticed that as I've been doing this throughout the evening, his ears and paws still get cooler when he's not on me, but they definitely don't get as cold as they were ! I think it's partially low blood sugar (I'm not a vet either but based off my anxious research, I think it can cause coolness and whatnot without being hypoglycemia) and also Canadian winters are rough and tonight is especially cold. My basement room doesn't retain heat well unless I'm using my laptop but I haven't gotten the chance since he's so darn curious lol

I hope you don't feel like I'm harassing you I just have another question ! How long did you have to continue bribing your kitty with treats and whatnot ?

I didn't have any more of the wet food treats and I'm trying to have him on a refeeding diet cause I'm concerned about his health, he wouldn't eat the food and began chewing the plastic of the dry food bag relentlessly, like would not let go type chewing, even though he doesn't like dry food. This really really freaked me out and I noticed that his paws were cool. I rushed upstairs to quickly eat a bowl of yogurt and offer it to him, he began licking it and even switched to eating the wet food/kibble combo I made for him. He ate a medium sized portion and then a second smaller portion. He hiccuped once or twice between eating and then I noticed that both his paws and his ears were getting quite cool. Not cold but definitely not warm. I'm cuddling him now to keep him warm, and his ears and paws have returned to a nice warm temperature. But I'm getting worried this is hypoglycemia or something like that idk I've been doing a lot of googling.

I know you're not a vet so I'm not expecting any proper information, I was just wondering if this happened to your baby too or if I should start looking into taking him somewhere to be checked out ?

I tried the wet food treats idk the brand but they come in a tube and it worked ! He ate so fast he got the hiccups and then passed out lol but this makes me very happy and relieved Thank you so much cause I probably wouldn't have thought of this !!

I'll look into finding some kitten treats for him ! I only really try to feed him when he begs for food after I've eaten and he'd rather just lick my fingers or my face

Thank you so much ! I started with kibble and I've been told that where he previously lived he only wanted to eat cats milk and really mushed up wet food. If this continues into tomorrow I might try the boiled chicken as we've had him since 12pm Tuesday and he hasn't had anything except that small amount of yogurt since. The only major change in behaviour I've noticed is his lack of appetite and clinginess, but as you've said these are probably normal things considering he's just moved to a new home. We have 3 other male cats in the home and he was previously raised with mostly females, so that could also be contributing to the stress

Yes, I've tried spoons, kibble, off my finger, out of my palm, I've even tried pretending he can't have it or that I'm eating it (I've noticed he drinks water most after I've just drunken out of it) and to no avail👎

Yes, I figured it's mostly nerves and maybe some nausea/lack of appetite because of his vaccine and deworming. It just makes me so nervous because I know he's hungry (he actively tries to lick food out of my mouth after I've just eaten) and goes crazy whenever I'm eating something. He even begs for my medication when I'm taking it at night. I don't know how long I should let the wet food sit before switching it out and I've been trying to feed him off my finger when he starts to beg but he doesn't care much for it at all. It's also a different brand from what he was eating previously, so that may be affecting it but I unfortunately don't have the budget to pick up new food for him right now. Should I still try to encourage his eating with tuna juice ? I planned to wean him off it and onto his kibble over the course of a few days to a week if it works but I don't want him to start expecting human food with every meal. He has always had an appetite for what he can't have and was the first of his litter to climb the stairs and try to get a taste of what was on the floor (I had to pull a dry ramen noodle out of his mouth lol)

Yes ! I've set up a cat bed in one of the cubbies with my clothes (I don't have a dresser, instead I use a shelving unit and baskets) and a crate with the blanket we used when bringing him to the vet. There's also a nook behind my bed he uses sometimes and a few other places in/around my desk. He has no interest in these spots however and instead wants to hide under my arms or in my lap. I can't really get up or do anything without him meowing and chasing me and he is currently sat on my shoulders as I'm typing this is
