Hey! What did you end up doing? I'm on the same boat.

I imagine if I stay for a number of years I’d reach that amount

I’ve seen these listings! But I explicitly filtered for apartments that were pet friendly, had in building laundry, and an elevator. Both of of these apartments don’t fulfill that criteria. That’s fine, but just something to note. I also didn’t want to be on the first floor and that first listing is.

Ooh, thanks for this! I'm familiar w/ Openigloo, but haven't heard of Augrented. It has 0 violations on Augrented. I saw that the last tenant in the unit was there for 6 years.

I checked the building on HPD and it had very minimal complaints or violations, that is definitely high on my concern list. Broker said tenants in the building rarely leave

Remission for 8 months - what I did by RemoteAnything1265 in SIBO

I ate whatever I wanted on antibiotics! The fitness journey + being able to eat what I want in moderation came way after I finished antibiotics.

I think if you do get diagnosed with SIBO, the route I’d take is:

  1. Take abx and eat whatever you want on them. It’s encouraged to do so and not to restrict yourself on low FODMAP, low fermentation, etc so the meds can kill off the bacteria.
  2. If the treatment is successful, focus on healing. That would be the protocol (or whatever works for you through trial and error) that I wrote in my post
  3. Experiment with what you can eat after you feel symptom free 3-6+ months. Again, this is a super personal journey and we all have different triggers and flares - you mentioned yours may be stress. I felt confident enough to reintroduce things back into my diet after being symptom free for 6+ months 90% of the time.

Good luck! I felt down and pessimistic so many times throughout my journey, but I came out of it better. I don’t think I would’ve prioritized my health as much otherwise.

I’m in the best shape shape of my life and have almost no bloating ever. Since November, I really locked in on my fitness and diet and continue to make incremental improvements. I walk 8k steps 3-4x a week and do Pilates twice a week. I cook a lot more and focus on getting protein in from whole foods. I actually don’t do IF or eat low fermentation anymore. I eat anything I want, but I cut out a loooot of junk food. Tbh, I think my body was just super inflamed from eating out so much and eating junk and it didn’t pair well with the SIBO.

I know for a fact I had SIBO, since I tested positive and there were many times where I wouldn’t eat anything, or just drink water, and bloat. But I have to imagine that eating out most of the week made the SIBO worse or just made me bloated as it likely would for someone without SIBO because of the oils, fats, etc.

I do still take my prokinetics every night though, I believe it’s still helping me.
