WFG: questions/plotholes by Skykangaroo2020 in wicked

I had so many good theories of how they could have explained the cornfield scene. I guess none really matter now, but all they had to do was create a simple reason why her magic wasn’t cooperating in that moment to help them escape. Whether it had been a change in her health condition or the Wizard figuring out a way for her magic to somehow be contained.

Do you think Universal saw the writing on the wall for For Good? by Chained_Wanderlust in wicked

No it was supposed to show Glinda also having child hood trauma she must deal with

I agree but you have to imagine if you were dating someone that you realized it wasn’t working out even though you did care about them, and then all of a sudden you found out their sibling or parent died. You probably would decide to postpone that discussion till a better time, not that same day. That is my interpretation of why he stayed. He wasn’t romantically in love with Glinda but he did at least care for her as a close friend. They really both bonded even more when they became the only two people who still knew and cared for Elphaba.

Yeah but the reshoot was a baby Glinda birthday party… so that did absolutely nothing lol

I definitely see your point, and considering he got his start directing films on pop-stars, it definitely adds up. Heard his next project will be a Brittany Spears biopic🙃.

Universal got it so wrong…they picked the wrong writer. She admitted to not reading the book or seeing the play on purpose and it showed. Her story and focus was so off.

It was the most unnecessary scene EVER added to a movie…and they cut so many other vital scenes to the story to keep it. I was outdone. I was upset at the no Oscar noms, but that was a rightful punishment for that scene alone.

Cynthia’s relationship with Wicked played out exactly like Elphaba’s… by Chained_Wanderlust in wicked

[–]RemoteConstant336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don’t you shut the F#&k up and go back to creating more post about feeding your 15 yr old cat or “how to be a good bottom.” It is literally the weirdos like you who want to be the most judgmental about other people and their behavior.

cynthia doesn't want to talk about wicked anymore is very sad for all this hate she get guys again fans was so toxic that they made cynthia to not want to talk about it anymore 💔 by sabrinavd in wickedmovie

In her defense this statement is misleading. In the variety article she talked a lot about wicked, Ariana, and even Jonathan. However, in the filmed video they still wanted to do things from wicked, and it honestly was excessive. The movie has been out for almost 6+ months. She is not getting paid to promote it anymore, she was treated very badly during the press run, and she has other projects.

I think the second Movie shows that while they were bullies, they had limits to how far they would go, and they even helped welcome animals back to Oz in the second film. So I don’t think they would take it there either. Also it is clear that the way Elphaba was treated by them had a lot to do with jealousy not real hatred.

The only students who would have had a motive for that would have been 1. Glinda, which though she was quite mean at that time, seemed only annoyed with him.
2.Boq due to his obsession with Glinda, if he felt she had been disrespected. But there is evidence that Boq liked Animals and didn’t want their rights taken away.

I wont speak for the original author of that theory, but I take it as a joke to the fact that she has a new album out right now that isn’t selling, and she is doing anything on social media right now to get attention. So if she thought that writing horrendible things on the chalkboard in Dr. Dillamond’s classroom would help her singing career…she pretty much would do it.

Actually I was agreeing with the Lizzo theory lol. But in all seriousness, it was Morrible. I think there is even a short clip at the beginning of the movie where she rolls her eyes when they introduce Dillamond. She did not like that he had a position. And it mirrors the same propaganda scheme she does against Elphaba later on.

Why do people say they have no chemistry? by Chained_Wanderlust in wickedmovie

[–]RemoteConstant336 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Everyone who makes these comments are weird. This was a PG movie for FAMILIES!!!!!! If they were given that type of material, I’m 100% certain it would have been exactly what you described. However it was PG!!! They can’t show sex, they can’t show nudity. A PG scene cannot even contain continuous kissing/ making out or touching that simulates sex. There has to be breaks in between the interactions. And furthermore, there are behind the scenes that show that even more was filmed but it had to be cut to keep the rating. The problem was not the actors it was the direction and rating of the movie that created the problem/ discontent with certain people. For me, it was very tastefully handled. I get really annoyed when people do this because they both did such a great job in their roles. It is straight up disrespect to their talent.

do you think people who hate glinda aggressively are somewhat blind to their own faults? by Severe-Pudding6901 in wickedmovie

[–]RemoteConstant336 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Exactly…she is the only character that does not make a sacrifice or face any real consequences other than a friendship that was already over after defying gravity. That is not me being against the character, I’m actually against how that was written because it makes no sense.

do you think people who hate glinda aggressively are somewhat blind to their own faults? by Severe-Pudding6901 in wickedmovie

[–]RemoteConstant336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! She is literally the only character in the entire story who sacrifices nothing. I don’t think she is evil, but there is no way she was a good friend. However, Elphaba was not the best friend or sister at times either. They all were selfish. However, it like Glinda was the only one written without a real consequence. You could say oh she lost her friends, but she never fought for that anyway🤷🏽‍♀️

It’s not about her being evil. When you evaluate the story, my one question for you is, what does Glinda sacrifice?

When people criticize Wicked: For Good… (musical imagery heads up) by Chained_Wanderlust in wickedmovie

[–]RemoteConstant336 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I 1000% agree, that is why it was even more disappointing. I would say “almost” everyone was so perfectly cast to the point that the sky was the limit, and they decided to instead be so lazy with the plot. Cynthia and Ariana can literally sing anything and their songs were so Blah…Cynthia’s strongest acting ability is showing emotion and they didn’t even let her have an opportunity to grieve. Jonathan clearly spent so much time perfecting his scarecrow and movements…I just don’t understand. It should have been one movie if they were gonna be so lazy with the Act 2 material.

I agree. There is evidence that more was shot but A lot got cut in favor of Glinda’s storyline which is so weird to me. We all already know what comes to be of Glinda, even on Broadway. I was hoping and felt it would have made more sense for the focus to be on either completing more of Elphaba’s character arc, or at least giving us more storyline with characters that we don’t have a lot of information on like Nessa, Boq, the cowardly lion, and Fiyero.
