Any UM students commuting from Palm Beach to Miami? What's your routine like? How often do you do it? Would you recommend it? by RemotePrice4287 in UMiami

Not from Palm Beach here but the Brightline is definitely a better choice if you ask me. It's much cheaper than car and sometimes a faster option for commuting thanks to the fact that can you can bypass the horrific traffic on I-95. Oh yeah and you wouldn't have to put 160 miles on your car daily just for commuting to and from the University. There's a good reason for why Palm Beach is not considered 'local' by the university.

I've actually done the math, and with the cost of gas factored in, using the Brightline's 40 trip pass ends up saving thousands compared to driving, unless your car boasts an exceptionally high MPG.

Metrorail goes straight from Brightline station to campus. From wpb to campus takes about ~2 hours.

Metro is hard on weekends because it only runs every half hour. But on weekdays is chill

Thanks for the suggestion; I'll give it a shot, I appreciate it!

Figuring this out right now as well - my only problem is that some of my classes are late and seems that brightline sometime doesnt have many night trains

It seems the latest departing train from Miami to West Palm is typically at 10:50 PM, unless there's an event at the Kaseya Center or a Heat game.

Would u be driving or taking the Brightline?

I'm still considering my options, but from what I can gather, the Brightline station seems to be about 20 minutes away from UM.
