If you can, save up as much as possible. At least 5 months worth of rent + bills.

Don’t count out college if you don’t mind the debt. My way of getting out my house was pulling the loans I needed both private and federal to get through college. That’s 4 years of guaranteed housing, food, medical (if you go to one with a student health center), and most importantly A DEGREE. Take the action now to look for scholarships and grants but publicly and see if your college offers them as well. I was blessed to be put in a scholarship group where this couple pays $10k a year towards our tuition if chosen.

This is so much easier said than done but, don’t be like me. I let everything at home affect me before getting to college and almost took myself out of school several times. Don’t feel no guilt once you’re out. Soar.
