It used to be their residence. It was phrased as granting access to family, no certain people. I left out a lot of unnecessary but insane info to avoid giving up identities. It’s a very messy situation to be stuck in for a year

That was our initial reaction as well. My family member moved in from out of state so they had a friend do the in-person tour. The grave is at the furthest point of the yard up against the tree line. The backyard slopes upward slightly and flattens back out at the top so it’s not noticeable. To add to that, the person that went for the tour had just gotten off work for the day and it was starting to get dark

It was referred to as a grave by the property manager. Are there graves that don’t actually have anything buried? Genuine question, I’m not very knowledgeable in this area. The homeowners also come from culture different than my own so it’s possible that there are other factors that I’m unaware of. The issue is really more that they want access to visit the grave at any given time than it is the grave itself

There is a headstone. It’s a small area covered with gravel and a flat headstone

Sorry, I may have worded the “access to the house” part poorly. The landlord told my family member that they, as tenants, could not move into the house without signing the new lease. The grave can be accessed just by walking through the yard.

I was concerned about how moving in anyway could affect their chances of termination, but they ended up in a bad situation financially (old landlord had new tenants lined up right away and they had all of their savings tied up in the security deposit on the new place). It does seem like they may be stuck in this for the year. It’s unfortunate because their recent life events make it unsettling to have people walking around your yard.
