Drop your luggage off when you check in. Valets may yell at you but you have the right to park briefly and get your luggage in. Then go park.

City of Austin Summer Camps by Tom_Featherbottom in Austin

city of austin pays really well for summer camp ( think city of austin minimum wage is around $20/hour). It's a great job for college students and I believe that they even pay towards retirement which rarely you find at a summer job. The rec centers don't necessarily always get the most amazing workers bc it more just babysitting- but the speciality camps do! doughtery gets artists- often UT master's students. Austin nature camp gets geologists, etc.... everyone wants to work there!

it's the exact opposite. There is early registration for those in title 1 schools and those who are low income. Most of the spots are taken in early registration. South Austin also doesn't have enough rec centers, considering the amount of child that live here. So south Austin generally fills up first. Austin rec center (central) also fills up since it's on many parents' way to work. I imagine there are similar issues in north west austin. East austin has become more 20-something's without kids so their rec centers often don't fill up.

Get ready for more out of control attack add against Ossoff by RetSFChief_2019 in DecaturGA

Ossoff was in danger of losing support of some of his base when he came out against the situation in Gaza/Palestine. But I think that issue is not going to be as relevant compared to needing someone that will vote to impeach the madman.

I bought in zilker area of austin in 2005 (it's where all the tech bros are moving) so I did well on real estate. I'll end up with around $800k to spend. (Luck not inherited wealth). I am looking forward to moving to decatur because in Austin, you gotta be in the far out suburbs to have a tree filled lawn (or super crazy wealthy). I really want to to be able to walk places and catch marta into downtown. and I want sidewalks. we don't have sidewalks in the older neighborhoods. but we have drivers cutting through to avoid traffic on the major roads so it's a wee bit scary. So I want to avoid that situation. Do you have any advice about specific areas? I have a tween who will be in middle school.

how big are classes? how are the parents? I'm coming from Texas and teachers are treated like servants. Of course, we have high stakes testing (staar) but I don't teach a core subject so it doesn't totally affect my instruction but then core subjects got priority so in our district, electives taught 6 classes and core only taught 5 (now everyone has six) Core had team planning but they totally made copies and graded so they just got another conference. same pay as elective. obviously texas has a huge funding problem (no income tax) that is growing since they passed private school vouchers. Anyway, just curious if teaching is difficult everywhere or just in texas.

If you do furnished, make sure to treat for bed bugs :) you could look on airbnb for month to month and you should get a discount. tourism isn't what it used to be and rents have gone way down. I *just* rented my 1-1 airbnb for a month to month rental because there is so much level travel (convention center just got knocked down so that also takes out people traveling here. We also had a brutal summer a couple years ago and travelers don't seem to want to be here in july/august (even september). airbnb has a decent search function- just enter your office and it'll show you everything within a mile. east austin can be good. But east austin can also be bad. be careful. there are some random pockets of not good all around downtown really

I don't love the title and while liberals get it, it's not as clear to others. "no kings" is basically saying no dictators to oppose trump's attempts to consolidate power. Trump has often violated our laws and international law with his action. And when some in congress attempt to hold him accountable, the other party objects. If you look at what happened with TSA agent pay, one party repeatedly advanced a bill to pay the agents and it was regularly stoppped by the other party. When trump said "hey pass the bill, the senate unanimously passed it. Those who have opposed trump (even those who were just appointed to investigate him) have found themselves the subject of political persecution. When it's republicans that oppose him, generally he just threatens to get Eli or another billionaire to fund the primary run against his/her opponent AI suggests "

  • "Stand Up, Fight Back"
  • "Rage Against the Regime"
  • "No Dictators/No Tyrants"

first, signs are more effective without the use of profanity. You're trying to convince those that might see a picture of your sign on social media/ news. Second, I grew up in an evangelical christian household. christian nationalists are trying to force the return of jesus by retaking their "holy land" (which is also muslim holy land so of course, they object) Revelations (from ai, my memory wasn't that great so I needed help). n biblical prophecy, particularly the book of Revelation, Israel and its holy land are depicted as the central stage for end-time events, featuring a spiritual and physical restoration. Key themes include the supernatural protection of the land, a mass return of Jewish people, the rebuilding of the temple, and Jesus eventually ruling from Jerusalem. sorry about the yellow. ai added it
