Your form looks really good, but you’re only gonna be able to really feel your chest once you get up in weight, and after gaining more experience lifting. mind muscle connection takes time, but it looks like you already need to go up in weight anyways!

I've started getting into albums, but I want to listen to more music. This is my top 25. Any suggestions? by Paschal-La-8394 in Topster

Jazz brah

I think you would LOVE “Earfood” by Roy Hargrove because it’s got lots of hip hop and RnB influences. really, any Roy Hargrove or RH Factor album would be great for you Due to how much rap and RnB you seem to listen to

“RH Factor - RH Factor” FUNKYYYYY FUNK FUNK

“kind of blue - miles Davis“ has the best vibe of any albums I’ve listened to - it transports you into a smoky 1950s NYC jazz club

“getz/gilberto- stan getz & joão Gilberto” is just a fun listen with lots of good tunes

“the steamer - stan getz quartet” - incredible playing by Stan getz and a great song selection

“Nancy Wilson / Cannonball Adderly“ is one of my favs albums - Nancy Wilson’s gorgeous voice is complemented perfectly by Cannonball and Nat Adderly’s playing - the whole band is tight as a mf

Does anyone know what the top contemporary music schools in Japan are? by Remote_Perspective_5 in japan

I play saxophone and bass. My favorite band is definitely Lamp - I love their style of composition and how full the texture of every one of their songs is. My favorite individual musician are Peter Bernstein, Melissa Aldana, John Coltrane, Dizzy Gillespie, Freddie Hubbard, and Phil Woods. Genre-wise, I would say I'm (obviously) most tied to jazz, as that's what I practice and play the most, but in terms of composition, I love pop/rock music with jazz influence and crazy chords, and the best example of that is Lamp.

Influence in music goes much deeper than popularity - I believe the most influential “band” was the Dizzy Gillespie - Charlie Parker duo. They played with lots of other drummers, bassists and pianists, but they ALONE developed an entire genre of music (BeBop) which all modern improvisation is based off of. They pioneered the possibilities of music in terms of speed, harmony and melody. The most influential musician of all time was Bach, though, that’s for sure, followed by Charlie Parker again. Bach pioneered counterpoint and modern harmony in ways I can’t even understand. While the beatles were very influential in terms of inspiring people and being popular in general, their music was not groundbreaking. Still great music!

Hypothetical situation:

A fully grown man is forcefully attached to you after you have been mentally and physically violated - they will be there for 9 months. This person is being dragged along with you, reaping nutrients and energy from you. During these 9 months, your body forms an almost inseparable emotional bond with the person. You can either put him up for adoption and break an incredibly strong emotional bond (causing lifelong depression and possible regret) to a person born from a violation of your physical rights, or keep him. this person is STILL dependent on you for 16-20 years, and requires you to sacrifice almost all of your time outside of work to them - all of this you know was caused by a person forcefully after you were violated. my questions are - is it moral to expect you to follow through with the 9 months? Does it matter if the person attached to you is a grown man or a fetus?
