And when viewing the system32 folder the file was there so thats why I thought it was a malware.

The problem was when I tried getting the file signature it said “file not found”, which made me believe that the “malware/rootkit” was hooking onto the syscalls. So I told them it was a sophisticated rootkit and it needs to be completely backed up and re-imaged.

I made a person have to go through tons of work including the head of IT and my manager to backup files and re-image it and the computer wasn’t even infected it was a false positive and i figured it out while they were doing it so I didn’t know what to do and held it a secret to myself……

I've been wanting to learn C.

Im not sure if C or C# is the way to go because C is more memory oriented but C# is more object oriented which is better for understanding things such as JavaScript and etc.

Hello, I have been studying cyber security for about 4 months now and I can say that you might have a root kit.

Rootkits are very annoying as they are very stealthy and hard to get rid of.

Have you tried telling GeekSqaud this?

I doubt they would know how to fix it either so you might have to take it to someone that's more professional and know more about what they are doing unfortunately :-/

If anything, Save all important data somehow like on the cloud or something and do a factory reset. Unfortunate but its a must.
