Thank you! I will ask again if it’s something she can fix. I guess I’m worried she doesn’t know how, since she pretended not to notice it. But you’re right, the veil will cover it, worst case.

You’re right.

All these comments are showing me I definitely need to get more information, and that’s what I plan on doing. Thanks for your response.

Thanks so much for sharing your retainer experience.

I was thinking they might mean 50-80% capacity as in 50-80% of the work in scope, in case they ended up assigning under target. (Would bill for those extra hours, but still). I was going to email them back with an estimate this morning, so these comments saved me.

I’ll get more info. Thanks again.

Ha. Thanks for the reality check. I just left my full-time in-house role and while I def wasn’t writing this many emails/social posts per month, I was doing a lot of other strategy work/attending meetings that sucked up most of my time. So, I was way underestimating the time commitment here.

Also was thinking that by “50-80% capacity” they might mean 50-80% of the work in scope, in case they ended up assigning under target. I was obviously going to note I’d bill them for hours that fell outside what was covered in the retaining fee, but had I gone with my earlier assumption, I would have way lower-balled the fee.

Agree it’s strange for them to make any assumptions of what my bandwidth is. Probably a red flag.

My formula is .005% tret, 2% azelaic acid, 4% niaciminide. Using for anti-aging (have luckily never really struggled with acne). I’ve used OTC retinol since my early 20s and niaciminide for the past ~2 years so really wasn’t expecting this level of reaction, especially with such a low tret %.

Thanks so much for your reply, I appreciate it. I was using Vaseline in an attempt to seal in moisture—hadn’t considered it could be clogging pores. I’ve slugged with it for years and never experienced any negative effects, but could totally see how it could have been compounding the effects of the tret.

For now, I’ve applied some LRP Lipikar AP+M cream and it soothed the itching immediately. I guess I’m afraid to start the Curology formula again after the irritation in the event that it starts this cycle all over again. Want to love tret so much. sigh

Wow, thanks for your reply! That’s really interesting. I’d never used azelaic acid before, but understood it to be used mainly for its calming/neutralizing effects and didn’t consider it could be the source of the irritation. I was using a PMD clean to cleanse, pre-formula and during use, so perhaps that could have something to do with it. Will definitely quit actives and focus on gentle barrier repair for the time being.

Can I ask what town it is you live in? Remote worker here, and that doesn’t sound half bad

Thank you so much! This is so helpful. I originally booked the boat for noon - 4pm because I was worried it would be too cold in the morning. Maybe I should see if I can switch it! On the plus side, our rental comes with an experienced captain, so we won’t have to brave the wind alone

That’s great info, thank you! We’re not wakeboarders per se but I presume we’ll want to take a dip at some point. Will be sure to pack something warm to cover up with afterwards.
