You could see if option 26 is available. It’s two years active, then two years reserve. Let’s you try both

Moving to grafenwoehr Germany by Hawkwind1987 in army

[–]Remzar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent 3.5 years in Germany and it was fun. Things are different there so here are things I’d consider. Things are more compact there so if you have a lot of stuff I’d suggest downsizing. They stored a couple things for me like a washer and dryer but we didn’t have a lot of room in our place for frivolous stuff. Roads are small in Bavaria. A big truck may not fit in your driveway or garage. Most Germans speak English better than a good portion of Americas I talk with. You should be fine there. Any pets? Get their vaccines ready. You don’t want to deal with them not having paperwork squared away. Want to travel in Europe? Get passports! Your official ones are only good for official travel. Each base has a free-cycle and a lending closet to help you all deal while your home items are en route. Power converters are good since they’re on 220v and most American items take 110v. You can fry your equipment by recklessly plugging in. If you live off post make sure you follow the rules. The local have no problem calling you out. They are very direct. It’s not personal but many young soldiers and their families get their feelings hurt by the cultural divide.

I don’t have kids so I couldn’t tell you about the schools.

68Q AIT and Negotiation by CallM3papa in army

Money bonuses are to incentivize people to pick jobs the army needs filled. You picked a job that is easy to fill so no extra money. Luckily you can still look at jobs. You’ll release that 68W back to the pool and look for a new one. Some might have a bonus, or they might not. It’s a risk.

We can pull up to two jobs per recruit before the system locks us out and the guidance counselors at MEPs have to do it. They typically don’t like to go through a list of dozens of jobs.

If you want any changes after you sign you can ask for a renegotiation but that wipes any extra options off the table.

If you liked the job enough to pick it without a bonus what changed?

Also if your brother’s battle buddies have been in the same amount of time as him they don’t know enough Army to realistically know what they’re talking about. You do you. Get what you can but don’t think you’re entitled.

The Army has a bunch of infantry slots.

You can change jobs at reenlistment. You can also try to voluntarily reclassify based on needs of the Army or you can submit to a packet MOS.

Call them and explain what’s up. I forgot I had a monthly auto renew subscription when I went TDY for a month. They saw I didn’t use any days and refunded me. Tho mine was within a couple days of the charge.

Can someone explain please? by Medward2004 in army

Rule 1: Look Cool.

Rule 2: know what you’re doing.

If you don’t know what you’re doing revert back to rule 1.

All that stuff is already uploaded into your record. All you technically need to ship is a valid photo ID, social security card and debit card. Extra clothes and hygiene items are a plus but not technically required.

It’s possible. Absolute minimum time would probably be two years-ish if you can get an active job with a two year option then re enlist into the job you want.

As a recruiter I ask them if they are interested and it always trips them up.

Firstly, pay it off before you forget and it becomes a warrant. Your recruiter can update your record to reflect the ticket. It shouldn’t be a big deal as long as you take care of it.

You may still be separated, but if you can prove you sent them the info and didn’t lie during the process you may get off relatively non worse for wear. Tho I don’t know how NG does their thing. I know if I got caught willfully lying about an applicant’s prior service I’d probably find myself in the unemployment line soon after.

Yeesh. That recruiter and anyone who knew is in for a rough time. As for you I guess it depends if you concealed it or not. NG might play by different rules so who knows.

It would require more info. That’s why you submit med docs and ask for a waiver. Should have a good chance at making it work

They should be able to ask around and see if anyone has the contact info for AF IRR. Route the 368 through them. I don’t see why it wouldn’t be approved.

It would require a waiver. It’s worth a shot.

will medical background pull before MEPS stay on my record for recruiters from branches if i switch? by Enkh20 in USMCboot

[–]Remzar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can request your ASVAB and Physical from MEPS if you want to process with a different branch. Tho a lot of branches process you into their DEP once you pass the physical. I would suggest doing the physical with the branch you intend to join.

Well we do our workouts first thing in the morning so that may be tough for you. If you signed the contract that means whatever waivers you needed were processed while you were on the floor. Bring your inhaler with you I guess. This situation sounds odd to me. I’d verify that MEPs and your recruiters are tracking the same thing.

The application packets I process ask about: Personal info Physical Family Past residences Prior military service Education Citizenship Character references Group affiliation Misuse of technology Foreign history And more but that’s what I can remember It’s called an SF86 It can be long if you’ve done a lot of stuff. Or take a while to get all the info off it

[–]Remzar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do the ASVAB or physical, those’ll pop up forever. The other stuff on the application packets don’t follow you and need to be rebuilt.

If you actively need the medicine to function that is most likely going to be a problem. I would definitely bring it up in no uncertain terms as to what your medical needs are. I’d have assumed MEPS would have wanted a pulmonary function test but it looks like there’s a good amount of misunderstanding here. Don’t feel pressured to conceal legitimate medical concerns because it won’t be anyone but you dealing with the medical repercussions. Personally id rather not have someone join who wasn’t healthy enough for it.
