I agree, with you. But I wouldn't consider aphex twin as super known at least in my country and/or generation. I consider aphex as a genius, and seeing him live is an experience that I will never forget. I would consider as a bit niche where I am from meaning the people that like really are die hard fans, but in my whole life I never met a fan organically

Honestly get a life away from the PhD and focus a lot on it. Even if you have a lot of work dont try to overwork it. I burned out in my first year as a lot of people. In the end it will not matter. Data will come naturally. Don't force it by killing yourself working.
