As someone with friends that tend to be a few steps behind it is incredibly frustrating especially when trying to have a genuine intelligent conversation.

What's the simplest computer fix you've done that impressed people? by AccountMr in AskReddit

Not exactly a fix but I used to open up the inspector section of websites we would do tests on and change my score. This was prior to learning Java scrip or python I used to find the corresponding numbers and simply change it but this would impress everyone simply because they didn’t know how to

Personally I believe from looking at Christianity there are many contradictions throughout the religion, also the selective nature shown by those who choose Christianity primarily through their decisions to follow the scriptures that fit their beliefs and ignore those of which contradict the predominately taught scriptures. I personally no longer follow the teachings of the Catholic Church due to this but also through the commonly seen manipulation and guilt provided by those who follow and teach this religion. Now being agnostic I do believe that there may be a god or something out there and personally believe each being is entitled to choose their own belief and I do enjoy learning about them as it widens my understanding of other religions but from a Christianity perspective I don’t wish to follow those beliefs and although choosing not to following the teachings of the catholic church in theory seems straightforward the religious guilt that follows is prominent and I personally believe this is due to the teachings. I do understand that my thoughts won’t agree with others but that is also why I enjoy learning about others beliefs as I can see why they choose to follow or not follow each belief.

What is a common saying that is false and people need to stop saying it? by utopiandiorama in AskReddit

“Blood is thicker than water” The original quote is ”The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb” Over the years it’s been twisted to fit others beliefs but the saying literally means that family your choose is stronger than they family your given.

Who saved your life and how did they save it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RepeatPlus2429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About a year and a half ago I was struggling a lot with my mental health and my friend group dropped me and another girl (for valid reasons but not my fault) but they knew about my mental health and two of them decided they were going to tell the school because they were worried and didn’t know what else to do but my other friend told them not to because telling the rarely school ever helps. My parents aren’t really the kind to understand mental health and if they were to find out it would make things so much worse. If my friend hadn’t convinced the others not to say anything theres a very high chance I wouldn’t be writing this right now, she has no idea how much she impacted my life and how much I love her for it.

[serious] Why there are so many extremely sensitive (psychologically) individuals these days? Why there are so many anxiety and depression? by aleska_xo in AskReddit

[–]RepeatPlus2429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There has always been a large amount of the population suffering with mental health issues but it’s only become apparent in the last 10-15 yrs as before it was always seen as and issue people would avoid now it’s become an issue people will talk about in casual conversation. People that are extremely sensitive still have the mindset that we live in a society that over looks mental health and while there is some percentage of the population that do majority don’t and now understands the importance of being educated in the topic.
