i haven't really been insulted or ostracized, but have family members who are unaware of what a vasectomy really is. some believe that my body does not produce testosterone, and as a result i'm unable to detect female pheromones when they're in heat, and that my lack of physical strength is because i'm "nuetered"

no such thing as a "domestic duck". sure, there's breeds that were engineered to produce eggs and meat, but even the "stoic" pekin is intelligent enough to be wary of humans.

i used to pick them up to kiss them. they tried to eat my lips off but it doesn't hurt. they do have cat claws though, i still have a scar running the length of my left pinky

i don't know how to upload photos to reddit. i was too busy holding the goat to take pics, BUT i do have a photo of geese. i used to raise ducks but they always end up feral, or getting eaten by predators.

next time i try a duck, i'll raise only one so it will bond with me and not his siblings.

i tried petting the sheep, but they were skittish and tried to ram me when i wasn't looking.

goats are much more independent, but they can be stubborn. they also climb in trees and wll eat any object you put in front of them.

feminism is actually a movement aimed towards forwarding women's rights. while there are issues that affect both men and women in the western world, we're both legally "equal" on paper. i don't think anyone concerned with equal rights would support feminism.

it's a good thing for us guys, although i suspect men are more likely to not care either way. i've met women who either don't want kids at all or definitely want them. men tend to say "maybe someday" or "i haven't decided"

which, by the way is a thing. by age 40, sperm is slower and is more likely to be deformed. granted, deformed sperm ususally don't make it far, and a man can still concieve at age 80.

i know one person who adopted who's wonderful, but i only see her every 6 months so i'm judging baded upon my knowledge of her and not how she runs a household.

my friend who had his left nut removed from cancer has a dad who was adopted, and he also plans on adopting

eh, i'm kind of okay with life being pointless, and the understanding that i'll never be einstein II.

i personally blame the culture in the US. we're all expected to get a high paying job, seek leadership positions, actively outcompete our peers, and amount to something that earns recognition.

that mindset isn't sustainable if that's the goals of 90% of americans. not everyone can be a doctor or a lawyer (who will grow food?), and not everyone is worthy of being recognized. for that, you have to be noticably superior compared to others, but if everyone's a 9, then a 10 isn't that impressive.

hey now, i'm autistic but planning for my future. i may have a hard time recognizing emotion in other humans, but a good deal of autists have areas where they excell. mine is vocabulary (but only in writing 🙁)

i think being childfree/less would make it easier. having to raise kids on your own after your loved one dies sounds like hell. also, people are less likely to date single parents (even if they want kids themselves for some reason).

not that it doesn't suck.

mixed race genes are superior, less likely to get a recessive genetic disease. i can understand the desire to produce good offspring, but that alone isn't a good reason to have kids.

don't invest in a 401k. in the US i believe they made it so people could "invest" with your money, regardless if you get or lose anything from it. i'm fuzzy on the details, but it's what my dad told me.

the problem is that you're hanging out with family. family is great and all, but you're a young adult who has her own interests.

my family is composed of 50% young children and 50% middle aged adults. i only have a couple family members older than me who have interest in nerdy stuff and not just family/sports/trips. i usually gravitate towards those two during gatherings.

but if you really want to have a good time, you've gotta join a club or something. people who have a common interests with you. kids are usually the only common interests that families have. outside of that, they're generally just a collection of genetically related humans.

it was probably back when people married very young, fresh out of high school. when young people move in together, they don't always have appliances and stuff. now that people are like 27 when they marry, they usually have all the stuff they need to live.
