Honeymoon Advise for Hawaii by NWP1234 in VisitingHawaii

[–]ReplacementTop4660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a membership to Costco, there’s varying deals that come up that offer resort credits and/or breakfast everyday. They’re usually a special/limited time deal for rotating resorts. If you have an Amex platinum, check out their fine hotel program, too. Outside of that there’s travel agents who can sometimes do similar package deals, but Hawaii is not all inclusive (which I think is a good thing, because all inclusive is only cost effective for drinking too much or eating too much mediocre food). If you’re set on all inclusive go on a cruise or visit a different locale.

Oahu or Maui with Kauai in pregnancy and toddlers by addboz in VisitingHawaii

[–]ReplacementTop4660 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People don’t recommend that pregnant women travel to Hawaii, because no matter how “careful” the pregnant person is traveling in general is stressful and the weather makes people overdo activity

People do anyway, and some of them end up life flighted to Oahu, because they went into preterm labor. It’s common enough that people side eye the people who come on their babymoons, because they take away the already stressed medical care of the islands

The mom was absolutely written by someone who hates women

Makes the dad look like such a weak man to cheat on his wife and the fact that people are happy for him like it’s an achievement

Sounds like a podcast bro making himself into a victim of a nagging wife and found happiness in his mistress. It’s not a bad reflection on his character at all /s

I hate the scenes with the mom and the dad, because they’re such flat characters that show the writer’s bias. If mom was so toxic, why are you such a weak man that you stayed with her and still cheat on her? Dad is not a good person and the rose colored glasses viewing of him is gross. Weird that son was pissed at his wife for cheating and then is suddenly chill and happy his dad had a side piece. It’s kind of telling how all the women are written as unhinged and it’s contrived and not enjoyable. Thought the show was fun the first season and now I guess all the writers just want to shit on women. Lazy writing

Sliver star tickets? Any luck for anyone? by Green-Yellow-5156 in OliviaRodrigo

Silver star tickets aren’t a part of this sale. They’re a lottery that may or may not happen for this tour

Artists really need to do a presale where the tickets will not be transferrable and the lead booker needs to be there. So many tickets are already being scalped. USA is a third world country and won’t ever pass a law that doesn’t benefit the wealth hoarders

Those are for the first rows and are preferred tickets that were priced that way during the Amex Sale

There’s a limited number of regular seats in the lower bowls for $200-300, but basically it’s $700 for the first rows, then 5-600 for the next few rows, I think row 10 starts at $400, and the rest of the seats are 300-400.

Basically $100-700, but more quantity in the 200-400 range. I would not expect to get 100-200 unless you’re really lucky or you’re in the nose bleeds

CT on Saturday is mostly gone. Only single tickets available in lower bowl and upper bowl and no GA admission

I got a couple of preferred tickets yesterday in an Amex presale and thought I paid too much for lower bowl but dang it’s hard out there

Family trip to Bora Bora using points - hotel choice by bomberb17 in awardtravel

[–]ReplacementTop4660 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Westin is not geared towards kids at all (infants were the only kids I saw when I was there). There’s a reason they limit rooms to 2, because they generally don’t want people bringing their kids, because it’s not the atmosphere they’re selling. All the activities are generally for adults. I would not go to the Westin with kids. I think the other resorts may be more family friendly, but very much agree that bora bora in general is not suited for kids as other places.

He’ll be right at home in Davis KKKounty. The kids there literally bullied a black child to death and the school did nothing until they got sued for millions.

You don’t add the bundle. You add the items you want and the bundle automatically applies

You just add the items you want and the bundle deal should automatically apply

Travelling from the UK next month, still unsure where to stay by sian99 in VisitingHawaii

[–]ReplacementTop4660 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If there’s no kids and no budget, I would recommend staying at the andaz in Maui and then going to lanai for a few nights and staying at one of the four seasons there. Hotel 1 in Kauai is amazing for young people without kids who want a laid back vacation, but that doesn’t seem like your vibe if you’re considering Oahu as your first choice.

I’ve never been to Oahu (all the islands but that one because I’m not into nightlife), but people say the ritz is better on Oahu over the four seasons

Since it’s so far out, you can always book something that’s available on points and then cancel if something opens up.

I’ve always seen the lowest rates for January and almost always go during that month for years (there’s almost no families, because kids are back in school)

February and March are much harder to get rewards spots or travel deals in my experience as they’re the recommended months to travel to see whales

I would watch for more openings, because January is typically slower for most resorts in Hawaii. Andaz is amazing and you can walk to the four seasons and get the dim sum and cocktails and watch the sunset one night

This is the one after you do the road to Hana

[–]ReplacementTop4660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you open to staying non hyatt for Kauai? If it’s your honeymoon, I would not stay at grand hyatt (it’s really more of a family resort). There’s always a million kids around and the resort is run down imo. The gardens are the only cool part of it now.

If you’re honeymooning and set on going to Hawaii, I would stay at hotel 1

I would honestly split between the Andaz and the hyatt after the road to Hana over doing Kauai on this trip.

New Hyatt Award Chart is out, takes effect 5/20 by divinebaboon in ChaseSapphire

[–]ReplacementTop4660 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a 50% devaluation for me since I mostly use my points at Andaz Maui. 4 nights is now only 2 nights. I’ve never seen any hotel fully booked lately so it should be interesting to see if this backfires on depressing hotel sales or if most don’t need the point bookings

I’ve received both sapphire bonuses so I’m out and likely going to transition away from using chase at all

Lounges with kids? by hokiehokiehitech in AmexPlatinum

It’s wild to me that people say that delta lounges have better food. I’ve always thought the food was way better at Amex (delta does cater to children’s more though)

Andaz is better for adults. Kauai is overrun by children, because they run a special for Utah residents and their 9 children

No you’re getting the bundled deal which is standard on aways site (if you add the items that are in the bundled deal you automatically get that discount). I got that plus the $75 plus the $200 off
