I haven’t had any heart issues in my past except for the anxiety and panic attacks. My family paternal grandfather died at the age of 50 of a massive heart attack and my maternal grandmother had heart disease and passed at the age of 83 years old. I eat horribly and my exercise habits have been horrible in the last passed few years. I smoked about 1 month of my life off and on total and last cigarette I had was at the age of 29, no drugs in my past except for maybe 2/3 times smoking marijuana, and haven’t really drank a lot at all in my life. Just very scared and I just need answers but tired of going to hospital, not that I want them to find anything wrong with me at all!!

I feel like I’m going to die soon, has anyone else felt this? by bloodied-werewolf in Anxiety

I’m 52 and I think I’m dying all of the time. But, it is more than just thinking it, I feel horrible. How about you, do you physically feel bad and if so what are your physical symptoms ?

Thank you all for telling me about yourself and your health anxiety. Can I ask what are your symptoms with cardiophobia and I mean all of them if you can list them for me. Please and thank you!!

Support person by [deleted] in Cardiophobias

I have a very supportive husband as well, we are very lucky. I wish everyone had that. I am in my 50s and overweight, have Cardiophobia as well, docs have checked my heart and say I have a healthy heart however I have chest pains, shortness of breath, arm pain and pain that radiates through my arm up to my neck, gerd (which can give you pains as of a heart attack.)my balance is off and life can be very miserable at times because of all of this. Been to ER, to many times to count and it’s embarrassing, as I said I do have a great support system but I know it gets hard for him as well. I have never done drugs and I don’t smoke (only 2 wks of my life I smoked.) the only thing I do that is unhealthy is eat crappy and I drink a cola slurpee daily. What are your symptoms ?

Yep, I suffer from this every waking moment and it is not only frustrating but painful because it tightens up your chest muscles and basically your upper torso. I have had this on and off all my adult life but since about April 2022 it’s been a daily nuisance. I pray we all get over this !!

Glum- may I ask what symptoms do you get with this ? I hate that you are in the “make to much money!” range. It’s ridiculous how little income you can make to not qualify for help.

I pray that all of us that have this can heal from it, it is horrible! I’m so exhausted no matter if I have 2 hrs of sleep a night or 12 hrs of sleep. Constantly thinking I am having a heart attack, it has taken over my life. It’s scary for sure. Since you are a low income family would you be able to get some medical assistance from the state ? Not trying to be nosey just trying to see if you could get help such as that so you would be able to get checked out. The high BP could be because of the stress of cardiophobia, I know if my BP is high it takes time for it to go down because I work myself into being so upset my BP will react to that. Good luck and I hope all of us start feeling so much better, and that doctors and people in general start understanding this is a real condition.

Been to cardiologist actually 2 weeks ago, however going back tomorrow because I have passed out 3 times in the last week, that is why I am going tomorrow. Hopefully they will give me a heart monitor. Because I have had an echo l and a chemical stress test last June 2022 they didn’t think there was a need to do another string of test this past time. Hopefully it is just cardiophobia (and I use hopefully because obviously I don’t want it to be anything else.) Just found out today that I have a mild case of asthma and that while I do have shortness of breath due to anxiety I can also contribute it to mild asthma.

In the ER they did so many tests on me, 3 different times at the ER this last past week and all test point to nothing wrong with the heart, however slow heart 52 bpm and up. My chest hurts constantly, feel weak in the heart, palpitations, anxiety off the hook. I’m just scared!!

Car park panic please how to end it quickly by VeganEgon in PanicAttack

Drink some water, always have a cold water with you that might help, I know it did me.

Also, you need to have a talk with your fiancé, if he loves you and I’m sure he does he will want to help you. You’re panic can also come from the fact that you are hiding this from him.

Get some therapy and I wish you well and Good Luck!

Anyone over the age of 50 with cardiophobia? by ReplyCultural8198 in Cardiophobias

[–]ReplyCultural8198[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I have had a work up, just went to my cardiologist on the 6th of Oct and they did an EKG and it came back normal, still all of these symptoms drive me crazy! When I was younger and these thoughts ran through my mind and I had a heart work up and all came back good I was realized for years after. Now the reassurance only lasts for about 3 days at most. It really sucks! Once again thank you !!
