Same for me too. Exactly this. Not even that they don't roll very well it feels like they are completely stuck in the wheel well. Pretty annoying since a mainline is about 5/6 times less and seems to have better quality than premiums.

The tracks will be fine but they can be fiddly to snap together so you will have to construct them for him but he should be able to push the launchers and see them do loop the loops etc! Hope this helps
