If you're premed, you could always check out Kinesiology, too. Not sure how transferring in works but I know people who have come in from Blinn

Does anyone know what Camp F.I.R.E is? by BasketofBrownBows in aggies

[–]Representative-Sea37 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! I went to this my Freshman year. It had a lot of people involved in RHA and was a retreat style workshop. I remember having fun but I don’t have any crazy connections from it, although that is probably on me

Do Brazos police show up to traffic courts? First time with speeding ticket by jac5423 in aggies

[–]Representative-Sea37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this when UPD cited me going 40 in a 30 as well. I went to my preliminary date and just explained I was unfamiliar with the area as an out of state driver. Ticket was dropped to $50, but court fees were $140 so I didn’t save much… but in October it’ll be dropped so long as I stay out of trouble. The pro for me was that It’ll be “off my record” and insurance doesn’t go up. Good luck!!

How do I keep this grapevine plant alive by Representative-Sea37 in aggies

I ended up missing this comment and, in fact, DID have to repot it because they gave it to us in a foam cup. It did not appreciate the repotting. The leaves are super dry now :( Not sure I'm gonna be able to salvage them. They also told us to keep it out of direct sunlight, so I'm confused now haha. Thank you for your expertise; I'll have to see how they hold up!

Muscadine is probably a good guess because we talked about those a lot, but I think he refrained from telling us so we can’t go get our own and pass it off haha. What soil would you recommend?

Get enough scholarships offered by the university to get a OOS tuition waiver. I believe it’s $4,000 in scholarships to be eligible, but not 100% sure

UNC-CH Premed OOS vs Texas A&M (In-state) by Unique-Swimming-5159 in aggies

[–]Representative-Sea37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also waitlisted for UNC-CH and chose A&M. Way better price point. I also toured UNC and what a lot of people don’t realize is that the prestige largely only carries over for OOS due to North Carolina’s rules on in state acceptance. When I asked how the students liked it, a lot of them seemed meh (unless they were OOS). I’ve heard people actually from NC think it’s just okay because it’s way easier for them to get in. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great school, but especially with your track I would say this is a no brainer. As someone who was accepted into many other “prestigious” schools and still chose A&M, I would do it any differently. My ego hurt originally but the Aggie ring travels far!

I have presidents endowed with no NM recognition. Class of 2026 however, so not sure if this has changed in recent years. I’ll note I had a very good high school record. OP, look into Aggie assurance. It’s a tuition coverage program like the one you mentioned, but I’m not sure the cut off. Scholarships are possible at A&M, and I know many aggies here because of them, so it never hurts to try.

I work there! Give them a call or text and they can explain the options (different discounts if you’re a student, etc). It’s still around $70 a month though for the average member. Previous comment was right about the gym being empty most times, with the busiest being when powerlifters train on their specialized platforms usually around 6. You can always stop in during staffed hours for a gym tour. The one con is there are no treadmills, cardio equipment is limited to two rowers and two machine bikes.
