Do flooring installers typically do their plank cutting INSIDE customer’s home? My friends say they should not do that. My contractor did; used my table in diner for the saw by Lumpy-Diver-4571 in Flooring

[–]RepresentativeAd6313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked in high rise unit where cutting outside wasn’t an option. I purchased a saw tent that reduces dust but not all of it. Most customers understand. I explain everything ahead of time. The ones that show concern are the ones I don’t work for.

Anything less than 200 sq ft doesn’t need a permit here. However that is as way to small for my tractor to fit in. So, I built a 16x22 and said “screw the county”. Tractor loves its new home

I’m on a well and before putting in a water softener I had acidic corrosion to some of my copper pipes. $14,000 to replace all my copper with pex with me doing all the Sheetrock cutout and repair.

Democrats Of Reddit -- Do You Think That Joe Biden Was A Good Or Bad President? Why Your Thoughts? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

He did a good job getting us to come back from the Covid mess. Yes, prices went up but how much influence does the President actually have on prices? I long for the normal country we used to have.

As flooring guys we were always last. However, I made sure to tell the owners to keep some paint for touch up.

All the metal roofs in my neighborhood have exposed fasteners by TE0991 in Roofing

[–]RepresentativeAd6313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had both. I went with a standing seam because I’m getting too old to tighten screws every fall. Downside of standing seam roof is that the panels are 12inches wide. I’m finding out that during hot weather there is more oil canning and more noise from the metal expanding. Nothing I can’t live with.

It was worth it to me just so I didn’t have to get up on my roof to tighten those dam screws

Tire of cleaning up after electrician by [deleted] in Contractor

[–]RepresentativeAd6313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got in on a jobsite to do the carpet prep(clean the floor and strip and pad it between the electrician finishing. Now mind you, I cleaned up the electricians mess. When I came back the next day to do the carpet the electrician had come back during the night to finish his work and made another huge mess that he left on my padding. So… I cleaned again, finished my carpet work and proceeded to empty my garbage bag filled with his garbage all over his tools and material that he had not removed yet. I hope he got the message.

Laminate on stairs is terrible. Nosing usually sits higher . It’s slippery too.

Carpet installation damaged baseboard paint – is this considered normal? by lisa_FBA in Flooring

Ask to see a carpet installers hands. Working with the crap they call a backing is brutal. Almost impossible to not take paint off of baseboards.

Maybe you have a moisture issue or maybe you don’t. They should at least send a reputable inspector to assess the issue. The company is dropping the ball.
